That’s been the experience of Dream Vacations franchise owners Narmin and Naushad Kermally. Based in Houston, Texas, the couple opened their franchise in 2011 and have steadily expanded their travel business over time. As Naushad puts it, “we’ve taken it to different heights now.”

A key part of that growth came from becoming more intentional about how they approached the business.

That’s when I think our shift changed, and we started being more focused. We realized this could be something more.

That focus carried into goal-setting. After determining a challenging – but meaningful – goal to reach, they worked hard to achieve their aims. Once we hit that number, we haven’t looked back, he says. We’ve continued to grow this business for our family.

The Power of Showing Up — Every November

Like many travel advisors, the Kermallys also found that relationships played a major role in their growth. After attending their first Dream Vacations National Conference – an annual event that brings together franchise owners, supplier partners, and the brand’s support team – they saw additional value in connecting in person.

We made sure that every November is blocked out, and we will always attend National Conference.

Those connections extended beyond suppliers. “It’s not just the vendors – it’s also different franchise owners that we meet and talk to. They tell us what they’re doing, what works,” he explains. “It’s such a great community that we have, where we can bounce ideas off each other and learn from each other.”

Community, Coaching, and a Headquarters That Picks Up the Phone

That community aspect is a central part of the Dream Vacations franchise model, which includes access to training, marketing programs, technology, and ongoing support designed to help travel advisors grow their business. As Naushad notes:

The headquarters team is also a very critical portion of our business… they are always there to respond to us and get us the answers that we need.
