This month we are going to finish up the Posada Group Resorts. Last month we finished the Grand Fiesta Americana by Posada Group and now we will look at the Live Aqua Resorts by Posada Group, the Explorean Resorts, as well as a short description of some of their other resorts. We won’t go into a lot of detail as they are not All-Inclusive Resorts.

The first resort we will look at is the Live Aqua Cancun Resort. This resort is a very nice adult only All-Inclusive Resort that has just completed some extensive renovations elevating it to a true 4 star resort. The resort sits on the main beach of Cancun. It has a lively upscale atmosphere. It is close to shopping and the nightlife of the Cancun hotel strip. This 371 room resort is a very nice medium sized adult only All-Inclusive Resort.

Accommodations to the resort consist of standard rooms with Garden View, Ocean View, and Ocean Front. They come with a smaller balcony or the next level comes with a larger terrace. Standard accommodations come with king bed or two double beds. The Suites start out with 1 bedroom suites and go up to 2 bedroom suites with one king bed and 2 queen beds. All rooms come with 3 options for lighting, aroma therapy, and your choice of music.

Select from 8 restaurants and a number of bars including a swim-up bar. Dining options contain, Mexican, Mediterranean, Seafood, Italian, Upscale Fusion, Grill, Deli and coffee bar, also a secret garden upscale dining experience, as well as an International buffet. Bars serve top shelf alcohol. Their MB restaurant has earned a “Wine Spectator” award.

As far as activities this resorts sits on one of the best stretches of the main Cancun beach. As with most resorts on the main Cancun beach, water sports center around the pool area. While the water on the beach is beautiful it does get quite rough. They do have jets skis and Parasailing available at an additional cost. These are not run by the resort but by independent companies on the beach. They have a wonderful Spa with a unique 7 temperature pool area as well as a full slate of spa treatments. The are activities throughout the day or just spend time in or around the main pool with it’s cabanas and bar and food service. The focus of this resort is relaxation. They do have nightly entertainment. The resort is focused on the adult client who wants to relax in upscale comfort on one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. They are just minutes from the shopping and nightlife of Cancun.

I do want to point out that La Posada does own more than one Live Aqua, but the other ones are not all inclusive. There is a Live Aqua boutique hotel in Playa Del Carmen right on 5th Ave. It does not sit on the beach but is in one of the best areas for shopping and people watching. There are other Live Aqua Hotels in Mexico City, Monterrey, and San Miguel de Allende.

The last Posada resorts we are going to look at this month are two fantastic small upscale boutique eco resorts named Explorean, one on the island of Cozumel named the and the other in the Mayan jungles of Chetumal. The first one we will look at is the one on Cozumel. It sits behind the Fiesta Americana Cozumel and guests at the Explorean have the use of the facilities of the Fiesta Americana. The Explorean is an experiential resort where you can disconnect and enjoy a vacation of self-discovery and the enjoyment of the surrounding areas. This resort does have WIFI but no TVs in the room. It is in a fantastic jungle setting where the client is surrounded by nature. A daily activity such as hikes, snorkeling, Mayan ruin tours, and sailing are included in the rate. The Resort is all inclusive. Rooms are done in an upscale minimalist design. The rooms are called casitas but are Jr. Suite style with a bedroom area and a sitting room area and a bathroom. They have either 1 king bed or 2 double beds and surround the pool area.

Dining is gourmet level in one restaurant with a changing menu focusing on local products. Guests do have exchange privileges with the Fiesta Americana Cozumel close by.

Activities and tours are included here with guest’s stays. They include snorkeling tours, hiking tours, sailing, Mayan Ruin tours, or just relaxing at the resort or by the pool. The resort focus is on nature and the ecology.

The second Explorean resort sit in the Mayan jungle close to Chetumal. It is set up the same way as the one on Cozumel, but the focus of this resort is more the Mayan culture and ruins. It also is a small upscale boutique resort with one restaurant, a pool and a variety of included tours.

These resorts are great for clients with or without children who want to get away and experience a relaxing vacation in a smaller boutique resort in a beautiful jungle setting without the disruption of TVs but with some interesting, fun and educational tours included.

This concludes or tour of the Posada Resorts, the Fiesta Americana, the Grand Fiesta Americana, the Live Aqua, and the Explorean Resorts.

Join is next month for reviews of another fantastic all-inclusive resort chain.

Until then safe travels and good selling.
