This month we will finish looking at the last 3 Dreams Resorts located in the Dominican Republic. They are the Dreams Palm Beach, the Dreams Punta Cana, and the Dreams Royal beach. All these resorts sit on the Atlantic side of the island on some of the best beaches in the Dominican. These resorts are all AAA 4 Diamond resorts providing a fantastic vacation experience for the whole family. They are also excellent for Destination Weddings where the guest list is made up of all ages. These 3 resorts were the first 3 Dreams resorts opened in the Dominican Republic.
The first resort we will look at is the beautiful Dreams Palm Beach Resort. This resort is a smaller Dreams Resorts in the Dominican. It is named Palm Beach because it was built in the middle of a Palm grove. It sits on a fantstic beach overlooking the eye catching turquoise blue water.
Accommodations at this resort consist of 500 regular rooms and Suites and Preferred Club rooms and Suites, the resorts concierge level. First, they have the Tropical View, Deluxe Tropical View Rooms, and Premium Tropical View Rooms. We then move to the Preferred Club accommodations starting with the Preferred Club Tropical View, the larger Preferred Club Tropical View Family Room, the Preferred Club Premium Tropical View, the Preferred Club Deluxe Ocean View, the Preferred Club Premium Ocean View, the Honeymoon one bedroom Tropical View Suite, the Preferred Club Honeymoon one bedroom Ocean View Suite, and finally the 1,300 Sq Ft Premium Club Ocean Front Presidential Suite. All rooms and suites come with Free WIFI, upgraded amenities, and 24 Hr. Room Service. All Accommodations except the Honeymoon level come with either one king bed or two double beds.
Dining options vary with 8 dinning choices including 5 A La Carte options. They have an International Buffet, a Barefoot grill, a Coffee and Snack Bar. The A La Carte choices are, French, Mexican, Pan Asian, Italian, And A Seaside Grill. Drinks are served at the Pool Bar, The Music Lounge, the Swim-up Bar, the Lobby Bar, the Theater Bar, and the Veranda Bar. The drinks are all top shelf alcohol.
As far as activities at the resort you can choose from both Water and Land. In the water they start with 4 pools plus a kid’s pool, a beautiful beach leading to the warm turquoise blue waters where you can partake of all the non-motorized watersports such as snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing, and kayaks. On land they offer Greens Fees at the local golf course, Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Bocce Ball, Ping Pong, Darts, Movies on the Beach, Music, nightly entertainment, Dance and Spanish Classes, as well as Theme nights and Beach parties. There is a great Spa, a Kid’s Club for those 3-12 in age and a Teen’s Club for those 13-17. All Clubs have supervised entertainment and activities as well as hang out areas for the Teens. This is a great resort for Destination Weddings with guests of all ages.
This resort is great for families and couples that want a smaller resort with all the amenities of a much large resort at a reasonable price.
Next, we are going to look at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort. This beautiful resort sits only 20 minutes from the airport and has one of the largest free form pools in the Dominican. It sits on a beautiful beach and is just minutes from a number of the AM Resorts, the Breathless, 2 of the newer Dreams Resorts and the Zoetry Resort. It is a large spread out resort with 620 rooms and suites with room to roam.
The accommodations at this resort consists of both standard rooms and suites, and the Preferred Club rooms and suite, the concierge level. The standard rooms and suites start with the Deluxe Tropical View and the Deluxe Tropical view Family Room, then the Deluxe Swim-out Room. We mow move to the Preferred Club Rooms and Suites starting with the Preferred Club Tropical View Room and the Preferred Club Tropical View Family Room, moving on to the Preferred Club Tropical View Jr. Suite, the Preferred Club one bedroom Honeymoon Suite Tropical View, and the Preferred Club Two Bedroom Tropical or Partial Ocean View Suite. All Accommodations come with Free WIFI, updated amenities, and 24 Hr. Room Service. All but the Honeymoon Suite come with either one king bed or two double beds.
Dining at the resort presents a wide variety of choices, 9 of them in total with 5 A La Carte choices. They start with an International Buffet, a Barefoot Grill, A Coffee and Snack Bar, and a Pizzeria. There are 5 A La Carte dining options including French, Pan Asian, Seafood, Steakhouse, and Italian. Bars include a Pool Bar, a Music Lounge Bar, a Swim-up Bar, a Lobby Bar, a Theater Bar, and an Outdoor Lounge Bar. Don’t forget the 24 Hr. room service.
Activities are plentiful and include both water and land activities. In the water we start off with one of the largest free form pools in the Dominican. It runs the length of the resort and is divided into different activity sections. There is also a Kid’s pool. On the beautiful beach we have a variety of non-motorized water sports such as sailing, wind surfing, snorkeling and kayaks. On land there are complimentary greens fees at the local golf club, ping pong, darts, basketball, batting cages, after all baseball is the Dominican national sport. There is also a number of classes such as cooking, Spanish, dancing, and cocktail making. There is a Marketplace, a Theater, and a Casino. The resort has a great kid’s Club for children 3-12 and a teen’s club for teens 13-17. Both have organized and supervised activities as well as a hang-out area for the teens. This resort also has a full service Spa and a gym. This resort is great for destination weddings with guests of all ages.
This resort is great for families and couples who want an active resort with a lot to do or a destination wedding for all ages at a reasonable cost and a great beach
The last resort we will look at is the Dreams Royal Beach Resort. Next door is the Secrets Royal Beach. These resorts switched places. In the beginning the Dreams resort used to be the Secrets Resort and the Secrets Resort used to be the Dreams resort. They switched places. I do not know what precipitated this. Having the two resorts next to each other lends the complex to cater to groups, Destination Weddings, and mixed family reunions with guests of all ages. Both resorts do share some of the same restaurants and a casino. The beach at this resort is one of the best walking beaches I have ever been on. The resort is about 30 minutes from the airport. The resort was not a new build but was a remodel of an existing resort.
Accommodations at this resort are made up of 373 standard rooms and suites and also AM resorts concierge accommodations the Preferred Level. The resort is built perpendicular to the ocean, so most rooms have a view of the pool or the tropical grounds. At the standard level we have the Deluxe Tropical View, the Deluxe Pool View, the Deluxe Pool Terrace, and the 1,100 Sq. Ft. Family Suite sleeping 6 adults and children. We now move to the Preferred Club accommodations starting with the Preferred Club Deluxe Pool View Room, the Preferred Club Deluxe Partial Ocean View, the Preferred Club Deluxe Swim-up rooms, and the Preferred Club one bedroom Master Suite Ocean Front. All accommodations come with free WIFI, upgraded amenities, and 24 Hr. Room Service. All accommodations except the Master Suite come with either one king bed or two double beds. The Master Suite only comes with one king bed.
Dining options number 7 with 4 A La Carte restaurants. There is an International Buffet, a Coffee and Snack Bar, and a beach Grill. The A La Carte choices are, Pan Asian, Italian, Seafood, and Grilled Specialties. As far as bars there are an Outdoor bar, a Swim-up Bar, a Night Club Bar, a Sports Bar, a Beach bar, and a Main Plaza Bar. Alcohol at the resort is top shelf. Some of the restaurants are shared with the Secrets Resort next door.
Activities abound at this resort consisting of both land and water activities. In the water we start with 3 pools including a Kid’s Pool, a fantastic beach where guests can partake of a number of non-motorized water sports such as kayaks, sailing, wind surfing, snorkeling, or just relaxing and taking a walk of the fantastic beach. On land guests can experience a wide variety of activities. There is golf at the local golf course, Tennis, Paddleball, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Dance and Spanish lessons, Theme nights and Beach Parties, Nightly entertainment, and many daily activities. There is a great Fitness Center, Spa and fantastic Kid’s and Teen Clubs.
This resort is great for families that want a lot of activities, and a fantastic beach. With the Secrets Resort next door the resort is great for all multigenerational vacations and Destination Weddings at a reasonable cost.
