Sunshine and Luxury Awaits at these Beautiful Dream Resorts

We will continue our tour of the Dreams Resorts with a loo at the Dreams located in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. First, I have an announcement from AM Resorts.
AM Resorts® and Playa Hotels & Resorts confirm the expiration of the contract for Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa effective December 20, 2022, and that the resort will no longer be represented under the AMR™ Collection brand portfolio as of such date. Beginning December 21, 2022, guests with existing reservations at Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa will have their stays protected at another AMR™ Collection branded property in the destination.
Also confirmed, effective January 6, 2023, Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana will no longer be represented under the AMR™ Collection brand portfolio. Beginning January 7, 2023, guests with existing reservations at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana will have their stays protected at another AMR™ Collection branded property in the destination.
Now, on to our reviews. This month, We will look at the first 3 Dreams Resorts located in the Cancun, Riviera Maya region. They are, the Dreams Tulum, Dreams Natura, and the Dreams Aventura. These are all located in the Riviera Maya south of Cancun
The first one we will look at is the Dreams Tulum. This beautiful AAA 4 Diamond resort is farther south than the others in the Tulum area. It is about 1-1.5 hrs. from the airport depending on traffic. It is a large spread out resort with a Mexican Hacienda style sitting on a beautiful stretch of beach. Reconnecting with yourself and nature is simple when surrounded by 44 breathtaking acres of coastline and jungle. Start your self-care mornings with a yoga session on our expansive, tranquil beach. Fill your afternoons with adventures to local family-friendly attractions.
Accommodations include 432 rooms and Suites at this resort consisting of both standard rooms and suites as well as Preferred Club rooms and suites, the concierge level. With standard rooms and suites, we start with Deluxe garden view rooms, Deluxe Garden View Rooms – Adult only section, Jr. Suite Garden View, the 966 Sq. Ft. Family suite Garden View with 1 king bed and 2 double beds. Deluxe Ocean View Room, and the Deluxe Jr. Suite Garden View. Except for the Family Suite, all Standard rooms and suites come with either 1 king bed or 2 double beds. Moving to the Preferred Club Leve accommodations we start with the Preferred Club Garden View Jr. Suite, the Preferred Club Ocean View Jr. Suite, the Preferred Club Deluxe Jr. Suite Swim-out, the Preferred Club Jr. Suite Garden View Swim-out – Adult only Section, the Preferred Club Ocean Front Jr. Suite, the Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite Ocean Front. The Preferred Club Hacienda Suite, and the Preferred Club Hacienda Presidential Suite. The Preferred Club level come with either 1 king bed or 2 double beds and all Preferred Club services. All Rooms and Suites come with free WIFI, upgraded amenities, mini bar restocked daily, and 24 Hr. room service.
Dining options include an International Buffet, a Grill, and a coffee café with snacks as well as 6 A la Carte dining choices. The A La Carte dining choices are made up of French, Mexican, Sushi, Pan Asian, Italian, and Seafood. As fsar as drinks there are 7 choices, the Swim-up Bar, the Lobby Bar, the refreshing and healthy Spa Bar, the Sports Bar, the Smoothie Bar, the Beach Bar, and the Lounge Bar. Don’t forget the 24 Hr. room service.
Activities abound at this resort and are made up of both Land and Water activities. Starting with the water activities they have 3 pools, an activity pool, a quiet pool, and a water park pool for the smaller kids. There is also a fantastic beach for relaxing or Kayaking, snorkeling, catamaran sailing, and beach volleyball. On land they have ping pong, board games, beach and pool Bali beds, movies on the beach, theme parties, turtle release program when in season, cocktail lessons, cooking lessons, and golf with free greens fees. The Kid’s Clubs for 3 – 12 with supervised activities both indoor and outdoor. They have a fantastic Spa including treatment cabins in the jungle and treatments for everyone in the family. There is even a large fitness center at the resort. Outside the resort are a number of must visit locations, the Tulum Maya Ruins, the Xel-ha park, the Xcaret Park, and a number of Cenotes for swimming.
This resort is great for families of all ages with an adult only section and everything for all ages and at a great price.
The next resort we will look at is going to be the Dreams Aventuras. This resort has gone through a complete remodel. It is a smaller resort that sits in the community of Aventuras made up of single family homes, condos, and a marina with a small downtown area. It has a very calm beach sitting on the end of a bay open to the ocean, so it is very good for kids. It sits about an hour from the airport.
The 305 accommodations at this resort consist of both Standard rooms and Suites as well as Preferred Club, the Concierge level, rooms and Suites. With the Standard level we start with the Deluxe Pool View, the Deluxe Swim-out, the Deluxe Ocean View, the Deluxe Marina View, the Family Suite Deluxe Garden View, the Family Suite Deluxe Pool View, the Family Suite Deluxe Swim-out, and the Family Suite Deluxe Ocean View. In the Preferred Club level we start with the Preferred Club Marina View, the Preferred Club Ocean View, Preferred Club Honeymoon Hot Tub Marina View, the Preferred Club Honeymoon Hot Tub Ocean View, the Preferred Club Family Suite Ocean View, the Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean View. All Rooms and Suites come with 1 king bed or 2 double beds. All rooms and suites have free WIFI, upgraded amenities, mini bar refreshed daily, and 24 Hr. room service.
There are a large number of dining options at this resort with 8 options including an International Buffet, a Grill, a Café with coffee and snacks, and 5 A La Carte choices. The A La Carte choices consist of Mexican, Sushi, Seafood, Italian, and a Steakhouse. For drinks the choices are the beach Bar, the Music Bar, and the 2 Swim-up Bars. Don’t forget the 24 Hr. room service. You can walk into the downtown area and experience some of the local dining and drinking establishments.
We will look at the activities at the resort both land and water. On land there are bikes for exploring the area, beach volleyball, movies on the beach, theme parties, turtle releasing when in season, board games, Cocktail, Spanish, and cooking classes and nightly entertainment. In the water there are 2 pools, a beautiful beach that is great for kids and great for relaxing, Swim with the dolphins on the property, snorkeling, all non motorized water sports. There are 2 Kid’s Clubs, one for ages 3-12 and a teen club for kids 13-17 with supervised activities both inside and outside. There is fantastic Spa, and it is a beautiful resort for weddings.
This is a great family resort on the smaller side and just the right size and feeling for kids. I would rate this resort in the 3.5-4 stars. I admit that I have not seen this resort since the remodel. It does price well and is worth taking a look at.
The last resort we will look at this month is the new Dreams Natura. This 4 star family resort sits only 10 miles from the airport and its design is based on the jungle and beach setting for the resort. It is a midsized resort with 503 accommodations. It has a unique Spa designed to look like a Yucatan Cenote and a great water park for the child in everyone.
Accommodations include both Standard and Preferred Club levels. All accommodations are Jr. Suite size and larger. In the Standard we start with the Jr. Suite Tropical View, then the Jr. Suite Partial Ocean View, the Jr. Suite Ocean View, the Jr. Suite Swim-out, and the Family Jr. Suite Ocean View. In the Preferred Club, Concierge Level, they have the Preferred Club Jr. Suite Partial Ocean View, Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean View, Preferred Club Jr. Suite Swim-out, Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean Front, the 936Sq. Ft. Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean View, the 936 Sq. Ft. Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean Front, the 970 Sq. Ft. Preferred Club Partial Ocean View Governor Suite, the 1,562 Sq. Ft. Preferred Club Partial Ocean View Orchid Suite, the 3,200 Sq. Ft. Ocean View Peony Master Suite, and the Partial Ocean View 1,562 Sq. Ft. Presidential Suite. All Preferred Club Suites hold 3 or 4 guests. All Jr. Suites and Suites come with free WIFI, daily restocked mini bar, upgraded amenities, and 24 Hr. Room Service.
Dining at this resort has 9 choices including an International Buffet, a Grill, a Coffee Snack Bar, and 6 A La Carte Restaurants, the A La Carte choices are, a Steakhouse, French, Mexican, Pan Asian, Seafood, and Italian. Drinks are served at the Beach Bar, the Disco/Sports Bar, the Swim-up Bar, the Lobby bar, the Theater Bar, and the Pool Side Bar. Don’t forget the 24Hr. Room Service.
Activities at the resort are varied and include both land and water choices. In the water choose from 4 pools, 2 water parks, one for the smaller children and one for the larger children and adults with 7 slides, 3 large for the adults and older children and 4 for the younger children, a huge lazy river, and the new roller glide arial ride, the first of its kind. There is a beautiful beach with all the non-motorized watersports such as kayaks, sailing, snorkeling, volleyball, and just relaxing. On land they have ping pong, board games, bocce ball, horseshoes, Dancing, cooking and cocktail classes, nightly entertainment, pool activities, and golf with free greens fees. There is a fantastic unique Spa designed to look like the inside of a cenote. This is a great resort for weddings with a great wedding dept.
This 4 star resort is great for family reunions, multi-generational family groups, or weddings with something for every age at a reasonable price.
