This month we will look at a relatively new Resort chain, Atelier Resorts. The Atelier Resorts are made up of Atelier, Estudio, Oleo. Atelier and Estudio, are located in Playa Mujeres and Oleo is located in Cancun. Atelier is adult only all-inclusive resort and Estudio is a family friendly all-inclusive resort. The Oleo Resort is also adult only. The Atelier and Estudio Resort are new builds while the Oleo Resort is a renovation of the old Yalmakan Hotel Towers. It sits next to the Sun Palace on the Southern part of the hotel zone. Both the Atelier and the Estudio Resorts have a separate, more upscale section called the Inspira Section, a more upscale hotel within a hotel. The Atelier Company is a Mexican Company with a goal of new upscale resort with a focus on luxury, technology, social environment, and upscale dining.
First, we will look at the Atelia Playa Mujeres. This it the Atelia Resorts 4.5 star adult only All-Inclusive Resort. It sits between the Dreams Resort and the Finest Resort. This resort is inspired by the art and contemporary designs of Mexico, combined with the ocean and golf course views. It is a new build and uses a lot of wood and marble in their design. It also sits on a beautiful beach. This resort also has a more upscale resort within a resort, the Inspira. This section ups the luxury and wow factor another notch. The Inspira section provides, private check-in. dine around pass allowing guests to eat at all the restaurants of all the Atelia Resorts, 26 of them, use of an iPad while at the resort, premium liquors, Gourmet-to-go meals to take with you on your off-site tour or outing, concierge, free U.S. phone calls, and 2 rounds of golf, Separate beach section and beach service all with upscale accommodations. This resort has 6 elevators.
Accommodations include Jr Suite King or Double, Handicap Jr Suite, Jr Suite Ocean View King or Double, Handicap Jr Suite, Jr Suite Swim-out both King and Double, and finally a Rooftop Suite. All Suites include upgraded amenities, 2 USB ports, HI-Speed WIFI, and 24 hr room service.
The Inspira section accommodations include, Inspira Jr. Suite, Inspira Jr Suite Ocean View, Inspira Jr Suite Swim-out, Inspira Jr Suite Ocean Front, Inspira Ocean View Swim-out, Inspira Roof-top Suite with Roof top deck. All Suites come with Hi-speed WIFI, USB ports, and 24 Hr. room service. Inspira Suites come with all the Inspira resort within a resort amenities and extras.
Dining provides 6 A La Carte restaurants and 3 snack bars. A La Carte restaurants include Mexican, Gourmet, Steakhouse, Italian, Asian, Seafood. The snack bars are a Taco Bar, a Health Bar, and a coffee bar with small bite items. As far as bars there is a choice of a lobby bar, a theater bar, a Mexican Cantina bar, a Sky Bar, a bar in the shopping area, as well as 2 swim-up bars and finally a private pool bar for the Inspira section.
Activities abound starting with the golf course next door, extra cost except for the Inspira area. Non-motorized water sports, daily activities, fantastic spa, gym, beautiful beach, and 2 pools.
This resort is for adults that are looking for a great upscale vacation experience in a beautiful area close to shopping, nightlife and the off-site tours of the Yucatan peninsula.
The next resort we will look at is the great Estudio Playa Mujeres. This Family friendly Resort is also located in the Playa Mujeres area just down the road from the Atelia. This resort brings together a new world for children as well a relaxing atmosphere that adults will fall in love with. They have their new Doodle Land for the kids as well an adult only area with an adult only pool and bar. The resorts sits on a great beach and golf is right next door. This resort also has the upscale hotel within a hotel concept with the Inspira Section. It offers the same amenities and extras as the Inspira located at the Atelia Playa Mujeres. This resort has 3 elevators.
Accommodations are made up of Jr Suite both King and Double bedding, A family Suite with bathrooms and a King bed as well as bunkbeds, Jr Suite ocean view with either king and double beds, Jr Suite swim-out with either king or double beds, Handicap Jr Suite, Rooftop Suite with king bed and sleeper sofa.
Next, we have the Inspira section accommodations. They include the Inspira Baby Suite set up for families with babies, Inspira Terrace Jr Suite with plunge pool, Inspira Jr Suite Swim-out with unique entrance to the pool almost from inside your room comes with either king or double beds.
Dining offers 5 A La Carte Restaurants and 1 coffee/snack bar. A La Carte dining offers, Mexican, Italian, Asian, Seafood, and International. As far as bars the resort offers, swim-up, pool service with both drinks and snacks, and a lobby bar. Don’t forget that Inspire guests get a dine around pass allowing them to dine at any of the Atelia resorts restaurants.
Activities are the name of the game at this resort. There are 2 pools, one for the Inspira level guests, and a huge main pool with a small water park for the little ones. Also, for the children is the resorts unique Doodle Land which combines technology, think robotics and other technologies, Art, culinary instruction, games, outdoor activities, a planetarium, and movies. The children activities are divided into babies, kids, pre-teens, and teens. For the adults there is a fantastic Spa, a fully equipped gym, non-motorized water sports, daily activities, and of course golf right next door. Inspire guests get 2 free rounds of golf.
This is a great 4.5 star family resort for the family that wants an upscale resort experience at a reasonable price.
The last resort we will look at is the Oleo Cancun. This adult only all-inclusive resort, as said, was the old Yalmakan Hotel Towers. It sits on the southern part of the Main Cancun beach. It is more of a smaller boutique hotel contained in 3 towers. The resort has been totally renovated and the design is minimalist modern and is focused on relaxing. All guests have concierge service, 24 hr room service, Hi-speed WIFI, and personalized pool and beach waiter service. The resort sits next to the Sun Palace Resort.
Accommodations consist of Standard room with either king of double bedding, Standard King 180 degree view with an ocean view and a lagoon view, Superior Sunset Room with 2 queen beds and a view of the lagoon, and a Jr Suite Sunset with a view of the Lagoon.
Dining consists of 4 A La Carte Restaurants, International, Mediterranean, Japanese, and an outdoor restaurant with lighter fare such as tacos, hamburgers, ceviche, and other snacks. There are 2 bars on the property, a swim-up pool bar and a lobby bar.
Activities lean toward the relaxing vibe with a painting workshop, Stretching, board games, bingo, water sports such as pool games, water volleyball and Aqua Zumba. There is live music at night and a DJ party.
This is a great 3.5 star boutique resort with a relaxing vibe for those clients want a great resort to slow down and at a great price.
This concludes our tour of the newer Atelier resort chain. There are plans to add more resorts throughout Mexico over the next few years.
