Under her leadership, National Geographic was a 2017 finalist for a Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for its issue about gender. That same year they won a National Magazine Award for best single issue. Ms. Goldberg is also a board member for Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
