(Monaco – August 22, 2019) In the year of Silversea’s 25th anniversary, the cruise line announces a new Venetian Society reunion sailing in 2020, as well as a special voyage to celebrate the Silver Anniversary of Silversea’s Fernando Barroso de Oliveira, Chairman’s Ambassador to the Venetian Society, in 2019.
On top of his duties as Cruise Director of the World Cruise, Fernando Barroso de Oliveira currently represents Silversea’s Executive Chairman at Venetian Society events and sailings. Given that Fernando has been part of Silversea’s family since the very beginning, he has become a close friend to many Venetian Society members and his work enriches guests’ experiences by fostering the intimate atmosphere that characterizes Silversea’s voyages.
“Having been with Silversea since 1994, I have built strong friendships with many of our guests,” says Fernando. “I take great pleasure in reconnecting with each of them — in their own countries or on board one of our ships. I greatly look forward to welcoming our Venetian Society guests on board for our special reunion sailings in 2019 and 2020.”
To enrich guests’ experiences further still, Norman Rafelson has been appointed as Silversea’s Delegate to the Venetian Society. Norman’s service will complement the invaluable role currently played by Fernando. Norman Rafelson joined Silversea Cruises in 2009 and has held the position of Hotel Director across many ships in the fleet. In his new role, Norman will represent Silversea at Venetian Society events, nurturing strong relationships with the loyalty program’s members, travel advisors and corporate partners to further strengthen the cruise line’s sense of family.
“I look forward to building on the strong relationships we’ve developed with our valued Venetian Society members over the years – not just at sea but also on land, closer to home,” says Norman. “I feel extremely proud to take this new role as Silversea’s Delegate to the Venetian Society, as part of a special team that has such exciting plans for growth.”Silversea will welcome Venetian Society members for the following reunion voyages in 2019 and 2020:
