World’s First Discovery Yacht launches in less than one year
Boston, September 2017 – With little more than a year until Scenic Eclipse – the world’s first Discovery Yacht – makes her debut in Cuba, Scenic has announced a new voyage to the iconic Caribbean nation. The 14-day Cuba in Depth sailing, which departs Miami on October 5, 2018, has been added to the schedule following increased demand from travelers eager to visit and explore a land lost in time. Fares start from $9,295 per person, double, for the roundtrip voyage, which will call at Havana, Isla de la Juventud, Cayo Largo Sur, Cienfuegos, Casilda, Santiago de Cuba and Antilla. This sailing is in addition to a Cuba in Depth sailing that departs Miami on Oct. 18.
USA’s People-to-People requirement fits well into Scenic’s focus on educating its guests and promoting local interaction on all its voyages. The cruise will include several overnight stops, providing guests with more time on the ground with local guides and locals as well as opportunities to experience Cuba’s bustling nightlife in iconic Cuban cities such as Havana, Santiago de Cuba and Antilla. While in Havana, cruisers will be able to enjoy two exclusive People-to-People Scenic Enrich experiences. These once-in-a-lifetime opportunities include a thrilling private display of Cuban percussion drums and dancing, as well a front row seat at Castillo del Morro to witness the age-old tradition of the firing of the cannon, with the city lights as your backdrop.
During the cruise, guests will also have plenty of time to explore each destination at their own pace, with Scenic offering 41 Scenic People-to-People Freechoice activities across the eight ports. From a horse and carriage ride around Havana’s historic city center and a visit to meet with cigar factory workers and see how they produce one of world’s most sought-after indulgences, to a visit to Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba and a dance lesson in Antilla, Scenic offers plenty of choice for all. And with Scenic Eclipse’s onboard kayaks and Zodiacs, guests will be able to explore Cuba from the water as well as land in Cayo Largo Sur, Antilla and Isla de la Juventud.
The “6-star” ultra-luxury mega yacht, carrying just 228 guests, (200 in the polar regions of Arctic and Antarctica), launches in the Mediterranean on August 31, 2018. Scenic will be the first to offer guests a level of luxury, discovery, safety and world-class innovation never before bundled into a ship of this size. Its 10 dining options, 5,900ft² Spa Sanctuary, staterooms that range in size from the generous 345ft² Verandah Suites to the 2,660ft² two-bedroom Penthouse Suite, eight spacious bars and lounges offering unlimited complimentary beverages, butler service, and numerous pools, allow for pampering usually found only in top resorts.
As well as cruises to Cuba, Scenic Eclipse will also offer a series of cruises to the far-flung reaches of Antarctica and the Arctic Circle, Mediterranean sojourns, as well as cruises to South America and a series of Transatlantic rediscovery cruises ranging in length from five to 15 days.
Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours’ Family of Brands has grown over its 30-year history to include award-winning, all-inclusive escorted tours that take participants to many of the world’s most fascinating destinations; two award-winning river cruise lines – Scenic and Emerald Waterways; and, in 2018, the World’s First Discovery Yacht – Scenic Eclipse.
