NexusTours Supports Jamaica in the Aftermath of Hurricane Melissa

Jamaica, 19 November, 2025 – Following Hurricane Melissa, one of the most powerful storms in Jamaica’s history, NexusTours, the leading Destination Management Company (DMC) in the Caribbean, Central and North America, and a core brand of GoNexus Group, a leading experiences and mobility travel group, has taken swift action to support its guests, partners, and local teams across the island. The storm caused significant damage to infrastructure and communications, yet the resilience of the Jamaican people and tourism community continues to inspire.

NexusTours confirmed that all members of its Jamaica team are safe and accounted for. From the earliest storm warnings, the company worked closely with Sunwing Vacations, WestJet Vacations, WestJet Airlines, RIU.com, and other key partners to ensure the safe return of its guests. Seven rescue flights—four from Kingston and three from Montego Bay, including two that departed before Hurricane Melissa made landfall—enabled hundreds of travelers to return home safely.

“Our priority has always been the safety and well-being of our guests, our partners, and our team,” said Rubén Gutiérrez, CEO of NexusTours. “The professionalism, courage, and dedication demonstrated by our Jamaica team during this unprecedented situation exemplify the spirit of service that defines NexusTours. We are proud to stand with the island as recovery efforts continue.”

NexusTours remains on the ground in Jamaica, assisting with logistics, providing ongoing support, and maintaining close communication with travelers and partners. The company also extends its gratitude to hotel partners, transportation suppliers, and local authorities, whose collaboration and flexibility have been essential in protecting and assisting guests throughout the crisis.

As Jamaica begins the path to recovery, NexusTours reaffirms its commitment to supporting the island, its partners, and its teams, contributing to rebuilding efforts and helping restore the vibrant tourism spirit that makes Jamaica one of the world’s most cherished destinations.
