The Travel Institute’s First-Ever Alumni Week ‘Truly Awesome!’

A record-setting week of learning, connection, prizes, and alumni pride—The Travel Institute’s inaugural Alumni Week sets the stage for many more to come.

“Great event…Honored to participate…Wonderful…The PEP Talks were so helpful…I truly appreciate all of it…I love the new Hub… I learned so much from the white paper… I loved the presentations…”

Our graduates said it themselves—Alumni Week was truly awesome!” enthused Carla Smith, CTA, director of alumni relations and continuing education for The Travel Institute.

“This community is proud, enthusiastic, and engaged—with The Travel Institute and with each other! After such a special week of connection and camaraderie with our CTAs, CTCs and CTIEs, our first-ever Alumni Week is now the first of many,” Smith pledged.

Overall, the event resulted in more than 11,000 new touchpoints connecting and reconnecting The Travel Institute and its certified graduates through exclusive access to a complimentary white paper and two live, online PEP Talks lectures; a new alumni-only webpage and tools; social media showcasing alumni; daily trivia games with fun giveaways including Education Hub subscriptions, swag from the education leader, and more. The week culminated on Founder’s Day in celebration of The Travel Institute’s 61st Anniversary and the chance for all Daily Trivia winners to win one of four cruises for two. Randomly selected from more than 500 lucky entries, cruises—generously donated by senior-level, certified alumni—were awarded to:

  • AmaWaterways: Maria Cabrera, CTA, WorldPortsTravel, LLC
  • Norwegian Cruise Line: Dale Bormann, Jr., CTA, Pioneer Travel
  • Royal Caribbean International: Rowena Robinson, CTA, World of Dreams Travel
  • Silversea: Wade May, CTA, Use or Lose Travel, LLC

The alumni initiative supports The Travel Institute’s most credentialed agents with exclusive, challenging content via a private dashboard, monthly newsletter and more while also fostering a sense of community amongst alumni—all to enable continued learning, networking, and greater success for those who have already advanced their careers through The Travel Institute’s industry-leading certifications.
