June 21, 2021 — My Morning Jacket is pleased to announce the return of One Big Holiday to the shores of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, this time in partnership with CID Presents and On Location. The four-day destination event, hosted March 2 – 5, 2022 at the spectacular Moon Palace Cancún, will feature three headlining performances on the beach by the band, as well as appearances by Lord Huron, Brittany Howard, Black Pumas, Sharon Van Etten, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Steel Pulse. Additional artists, pool party and late-night sets are still to be announced.
All-inclusive One Big Holiday packages will go on sale to the public June 23 at 1PM ET. Previous One Big Holiday guests will be invited to return to the beach via an Alumni Pre-Sale, which begins June 22 at 1PM ET.
The partnership forged between My Morning Jacket and CID Presents gives a new opportunity to evolve the event while honoring the legacy of One Big Holiday as the premier destination for My Morning Jacket fans. Those who previously traveled with the band to Riviera Maya or Punta Cana will notice a number of exciting updates at the new host resort, Moon Palace Cancún, from an exceptional new oceanfront venue located on a picturesque and private stretch of white sand beach, to packages that boast a variety of room types, flexible trip durations and group sizes.
In addition to daytime entertainment and nightly concerts, guests will be encouraged to enrich their weekend with exploration of the natural beauty of the Yucatan Peninsula and rich Mayan culture through various off-site adventures including diving in underground cenotes, visiting the lost capital of Chichen Itza, discovering the natural beauty of Isla Mujeres, sailing on luxury catamarans, and more.
CID Presents’ ongoing commitment to a comprehensive greening program continues in partnership with My Morning Jacket & Moon Palace, who has been designated as a low carbon tourism provider. In addition to a single-use plastic-free concert area, all waste discarded throughout the resort will be sorted during the event and diverted from landfill. These efforts have resulted in more responsible and sustainable event production while directly contributing to the fight against climate change.
