Gifted Travel Network’s Mentoring Program Revolutionizes Travel Agent Education
GTN’s Travel MBA program has delivered major results for agents just entering or returning to the travel industry.

Mooresville, N.C. (April 21, 2016) — Innovative host agency Gifted Travel Network (GTN) is helping new and established travel agents alike achieve success in travel with a host of resources and support unlike anything seen in the travel industry today. Through its signature Travel Marketing and Business Academy (Travel MBA program for short), GTN puts the focus on establishing a marketing and business strategy — as opposed to just booking and supplier knowledge — so that agents can build a steady stream of clients in their chosen niche.

The 12-month program, which centers around 13 online, interactive learning modules, walks agents through the steps needed to establish a business foundation, create an effective marketing plan, and hit financial goals. The program includes a bevy of mentoring support in the form of access to private Facebook support groups, a one-on-one coaching session with GTN President Meredith Hill to establish a laser-focused specialty based on the participant’s unique brilliance and interests, and regular access to mentoring and guidance from the designated Travel MBA mentor Lisa Fletcher, a veteran travel advisor and travel industry educator.

Participating agents have found incredible value in the education, support, and confidence boost that Travel MBA provides. “Travel MBA has been by far the best thing I have done for my business. Without it I wouldn’t have been able to get my foot in the door with such a low start-up cost,” said Claire Taylor of Taylor Made Vacations. “The Travel MBA mentor, Lisa Fletcher, has been a lifesaver. She has helped me so much; access to Lisa alone has been the most valuable part of the program for me.” Before joining GTN’s Travel MBA program, Taylor had zero experience with booking travel. Within the first few weeks of joining the program, however, she booked a $10,000 Sandals vacation, and she has consistently booked high-end suppliers for her new roster of clients since then.

Program participant John Rees, of J5Travel, echoes Taylor’s claims about the program’s resources and support for newer travel agents. “The resources available in the network that GTN has created are amazing, and it is a simple process to find answers to the multitude of questions a newcomer inevitably has,” said Rees. “My early mentoring calls with Meredith were also incredibly useful; right from the outset, she helped me focus on my strengths — and somehow she knew what these were before I did!” After joining last summer, Rees is wrapping up his participation in the yearlong program on a high note. GTN reports that for the first two months of 2016, Rees was one of the top performers out of GTN’s 140 agents. Rees credits much of his success to the mentoring and resources he’s been able to utilize through the Travel MBA program. Said Reese: “Even though I’m an independent contractor, I honestly feel that any success I’ve had has been down to a team effort.”
