The award-winning brand honors the Tollman family’s four-generation legacy by sharing their unparalleled wealth of expertise and promoting sustainable travel through their Luxury Gold Cares sustainable travel initiatives and partnership with the not-for-profit organization, TreadRight Foundation.
Travelers will get a taste of the Amazon rainforest by participating in an immersive international development project, connecting with community members and exploring nature by hiking deep into primary and secondary rainforest–where, if they’re lucky, may see a myriad of animal species, including toucan, long-tailed potoos, gargantuan cebo trees and countless species of insects, spiders and snakes.

‘Ecuador ME to WE extension’: Immerse yourself into Ecuador’s vibrant culture and lush landscapes as you head on an exciting 5-day expedition through the Amazon jungle. For this unforgettable journey, Luxury Gold has partnered with social enterprise ME to WE, connecting you with indigenous communities, the rainforest and allowing you to participate in a sustainable international development project. Guests will stay at the luxurious Minga Lodge , a jungle oasis that boasts stunning views of the Rio Napo, the largest tributary to the Amazon River. They will feast on Western favorites and local delicacies like heart of palm, stinging nettle and fish cooked in palm leaves. Guests will join a ME to WE team member for a short jungle walk or canoe ride to the nearby community, where they will help build local infrastructure as part of a WE Village’s development project. They’ll gain insight into the community mindset of the Kichwa people as they listen to the inspiring story of how Craig and Marc Kielburger witnessed a spontaneous and powerful community movement –a minga–years ago that inspired the formation of ME to WE, and of course the naming of Minga Lodge. Later, they’ll roll up their sleeves and join a local farmer to help carry out some of their daily activities, such as planting seeds, fetching water from the river and harvesting crops. For a perfect ending to a hard day’s work, guests will enjoy a stunning sunset dinner perched above the Rio Napo.
