Veteran Travel Photographer Jack Hollingsworth to Lead Onboard Photo Classes
Boston and Vancouver, BC, November 2017 – European river cruises offer endless opportunities to capture gorgeous photographs, from the grandiose cathedrals and castles to the bucolic countryside. But for many, even in the era of the ubiquitous smartphone, returning home with impressive vacation photos is often easier said than done. Emerald Waterways is offering guests aboard the August 4, 2018 Sensations of Southern France sailing the chance to improve their skills and learn to use their smart phones to take sharper, more captivating photos with one of the industry’s best, Jack Hollingsworth.
During this special sailing, Hollingsworth will lead guests in multiple on-board workshops showing even novice smartphone users his tricks of the trade. Guests will learn everything from how to compose a better shot, which apps the pros use (and how to use them) and how make the most of the powerful cameras that live inside our smart phones. To reinforce these lessons, Hollingsworth will offer hands-on assistance during afternoon and evening sailings and on shore excursions to further insure guests will go home with photos that will be the envy of their friends and families.
Jack Hollingsworth is a recognized name in travel and lifestyle photography, especially when it comes to shooting with a smart phone, and the author of the book, “The Joy of iPhotography.” He shot commercially for year using traditional cameras until he fell in love with his iPhone camera, which he now uses as his primary capture tool. Over the past six years, he has shot over 500,000 images in over 20 countries using only his iPhone and his work has appeared in Apple’s popular #ShotoniPhone campaign. Hollingsworth also teaches seminars and classes on smart phone photography across the country, which have inspired thousands to further explore the power of their camera phones.
Emerald Waterways Sensations of Southern France cruises take place on board the newly launched Emerald Liberte and travel through the popular Provence and Burgundy region on eight-night itineraries from either Lyon or Arles between April and October. The itinerary includes Chalon-Sur-Saône, Beaune, Macon, Tournon, Arles and historic Avignon. Eight-day sailings in 2018 start at $2,995 per person based on double occupancy.
Scenic Luxury Cruises has grown over its 30-year history to include award-winning, all-inclusive escorted tours that take participants to many of the world’s most fascinating destinations; two award-winning river cruise lines – Scenic and Emerald Waterways; and, in 2018, the World’s First Discovery Yacht – Scenic Eclipse. Emerald Waterways’ seven Star-Ships offer deluxe cruises in Europe and an exclusive charter on the MV Navigator for sailings in South East Asia, while Scenic’s 15 Space-Ships offer the only truly all-inclusive, five-star river cruises in the same destinations.
