A valued platform to both suppliers and advisors in the industry, VAX VacationAccess is more than a booking engine it’s an ever-evolving resource. And, because VAX constantly develops new tools to stay aligned with advisors’ needs, one of its best (and most underrated) features is its diversity in educational offerings. Whether you’re a veteran travel pro or a rookie advisor, VAX has something new for you to learn — keep reading to discover all the educational areas housed on the platform.

Travel Protection

As most industry pros know, travel protection is an extremely important topic to understand, even if it can be a little confusing at times. To gain a more comprehensive overview of the industry’s brands, advisors can head over to “Reservations & Brands” in the top left corner of the VAX homepage menu. From there, select the “Travel Protection” link.

Users will find brand showcases for Travel Guard and Allianz Partners, where clicking the “learn more” button provides additional information about each company. Individual pages feature resources like social media handles, points of contact within the organization and products and services in one place, giving advisors a basic understanding of each brand without having to dig.

The Travel Protection pages also include links to relevant content from The Compass. These articles guide readers on hot topics like choosing the best insurance for a client, understanding the nuances of cruise coverage and matching traveler profiles to a protection plan. Each piece is written with advisors in mind, presenting critical information in a user-friendly and digestible format.

Education

On the same menu as the “Reservations & Brands” tab sits the “Education” section. When advisors hover over the dropdown, several key redirections appear. Here’s what you need to know about each one.

Brand Training & Education

Listed first, “Brand Training & Education” displays industry courses advisors might find useful. Live or on-demand webinars and offsite programs are a few of the education categories users can explore.

This past September, offerings included “New to the Travel Industry” by the Travel Institute and “Discover Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection in Europe,” highlighting the range of topics covered by these courses.

VAX Training & Education

Similarly, the “VAX Training & Education” link stores informational content about VAX and its capabilities. As a platform used by thousands of advisors across the U.S., understanding the ins and outs of the site helps travel pros maximize their time and squeeze all the potential out of each resource.

Key areas include the “Learn on VAX” tab, which directs advisors to helpful resources like The Compass or VAX’s specialty travel pages. The “Book on VAX” section stores quick links to videos with written instructions answering FAQs, such as how to use the site’s hotel filter or build a multi-destination itinerary.

This training tab also covers a wide range of topics, including “Minimizing Fraud Risk,” which discusses the importance of strong passwords and self-protection strategies, and “Manage Your Reservations,” featuring step-by-step explanations for editing booking details. This educational resource is overflowing with tips and tricks for advisors, making it well worth spending extra time exploring.

New Advisor Education

In the same vein as many other VAX resources, the “New Advisor Education” link takes new users on a tour of VAX. Here, they can learn the basics of booking a trip, complete with guides, industry organizations to follow and recommended articles from The Compass.

Resources

The final category to know about is the “Resources” section. Hovering over this link reveals a “Specialty Travel” category. Underneath, “Destination Weddings” and “Family Travel” are listed, as this area is geared toward helping advisors tap into these lucrative markets. Regardless of which direction business pros choose to uncover, both pages offer insights from industry representatives, fellow peers and The Compass to set advisors up for success.
