To enter Chile, all travelers will have to complete a series of mandatory requirements:

Travelers must have a negative PCR taken 72 hours before boarding. In flights with stopovers, the last boarding point is considered. In case of entering by land, it cannot be older than 72 hours from the taking of the sample. This requirement is for every person over the age of 2.

Sworn declaration of travelers from abroad: Available at www.c19.cl.  Every traveler, of all ages, needs to complete the form “Sworn Declaration of Travelers” electronically and up to 48 hours before boarding. Travelers must fill out this form and attach the result of the negative PCR test taken 72 hours before boarding.

Medical travel insurance: Chilean citizens, residents, and non-resident foreigners who comply with one or more of the special requirements in Decree 102 of the Ministry of the Interior will not need health insurance. Other travelers must have health insurance with a minimum coverage of $30,000.

To have completed a vaccination program (2 doses): which must be validated at www.mevacuno.gob.cl before entering Chile. The vaccination approval period will be informed to the traveler at the time of making the request, a procedure that may take up to 30 calendar days. Children under the age of 6 and non-resident foreigners who comply with one or more of the special requirements in Decree 102 of the Ministry of the Interior may enter without a complete vaccination program.

Vaccine Validation: Prior to their travel, visitors must enter www.mevacuno.gov.cl, create an account and fill out a form with personal information and attach documents that certify their vaccination status. Since every country has its own method of vaccination certificates, the Chilean authorities require a digital certificate with an electronic signature or a QR code that confirms that an official government agency issued the information. Those who have physical documentation, which cannot be corroborated in any electronic system, must present their documents accompanied by additional background information such as passport and laboratory test results to certify that they have positive lgM/lgG antibodies against Covid-19.

About Chile

Chile is a country rich in diversity and contrast. It possesses a special geography that distinguishes it from other world destinations. One of its most unique features is having territory in three world regions: South America, Oceania, and Antarctica. Its continental length from north to south reaches over 4,300 kilometers in a narrow strip of land between the rugged Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Such a great expanse gives way to an array of privileged landscapes, beginning with the planet’s most arid desert, transitioning through a fertile central valley, down through a land of lakes and volcanoes and ending in the glaciers, fjords, and granite mountains of wild Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego – the farthest reaches of the continent. Reasons to discover Chile include: surprising natural wonders such as the Atacama, the driest desert in the world with more than 200 native flowers; culture and heritage with six UNESCO world heritage sites and firsthand experience with the Mapuche Culture; world-class sports and adventures – ski the Andes, surf in Pichilemu or go scuba diving in Easter Island; flavors and wine from the end of the world; astronomical tourism with the clearest skies in the Southern Hemisphere; vibrant city life in Santiago;  health and wellness with 270+ thermal springs, wine therapy and treatments using local products such as olives or avocado; among many others.
