ARC Joins NDC Exchange in Partnership with ATPCO and SITA

Effort Furthers ARC’s Commitment to Support Diverse Airline Distribution Models

ARLINGTON, Va. – March 19, 2018 – Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) is pleased to announce that it is joining NDC Exchange, an industry-owned solution developed jointly between ATPCO and SITA. NDC Exchange is a community-driven marketplace which enables airlines and travel sellers to quickly adopt new distribution capability, or NDC.

“Collaboration by industry-owned entities is essential as distribution continues to evolve,” said ARC President and CEO Mike Premo. “By combining each company’s expertise, ARC and ATPCO expect to offer more flexible transaction processing workflows, billing and settlement, and outputs that enable airlines and agencies to efficiently manage their partnerships as available content grows. We look forward to working with ATPCO in supporting their NDC Exchange solution.”

NDC Exchange, an IATA-certified NDC service, performs real-time message translation and supports many industry APIs regardless of schema standard and version. By connecting multiple airlines to many sellers with a single interface, customers can extend their reach to traditional and non-traditional distribution points, reducing distribution costs and expediting interoperability across the travel industry ecosystem.

“Having ARC settlement data integrated with NDC Exchange means that airlines and agencies that join our growing marketplace can realize the benefits of an NDC-powered, end-to-end distribution process faster,” said Rolf Purzer, ATPCO President & CEO. “Together with our customers we see the next generation of distribution taking shape. We will now be able to extend our offering to also support the industry migration to One Order.”

Commenting on the partnership, Aleks Popovich, IATA senior vice president of financial and distribution services, stated, “Having industry-owned organizations working closely together to deliver solutions supporting airline adoption of NDC is absolutely essential. IATA welcomes ARC’s involvement in the NDC Exchange. We look forward to continuing to work closely with ATPCO and ARC in exploring industry opportunities to support NDC adoption.”

As part of the ongoing partnership, ARC and ATPCO will create a joint project team to work on integrating order-to-sales data transformation and integrating the ARC settlement services.

ARC announced its partnership with British Airways to test and implement enhancements to its settlement platform last month.
