CALABASAS, Calif. — AmaWaterways today unveiled a first look at AmaMaya, its newest ship on the Mekong River, bringing a new level of luxury to the company’s journeys through Vietnam and Cambodia. Debuting in January 2027, the 120-guest ship has been thoughtfully designed around a contemporary interpretation of Indochine heritage, creating a sophisticated onboard environment that feels both modern and deeply connected to the region.
AmaMaya will sail AmaWaterways’ Charms of the Mekong and Riches of the Mekong itineraries, offering guests an intimate way to discover the cultures, traditions and landscapes of Vietnam and Cambodia while enjoying elevated accommodations, locally inspired cuisine and thoughtful spaces designed for connection and relaxation.

Carrying 120 guests in 60 staterooms, the same number and type of accommodations as her sistership AmaDara,AmaMaya introduces a fresh design vision to AmaWaterways’ Mekong fleet. Its contemporary interiors feature subtle Indochine-inspired accents and details, with the design centered around the idea of movement, reflecting both the experience of sailing along the Mekong and the journey of discovery along the way. Throughout the ship, comfortable spaces invite guests to take in the surrounding landscapes and travel at a relaxed pace.
Guests will enjoy two dining venues, including the Mekong Restaurant, serving elegant cuisine with international and local influences, and The Chef’s Table, an intimate specialty restaurant featuring a multi-course tasting menu. Menus will highlight Southeast Asian flavors and fresh ingredients, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary needs accommodated.
AmaMaya will also feature a fitness room, sun deck pool and three massage rooms. A dedicated Wellness Host will lead fitness and mindfulness activities throughout the cruise, offering guests opportunities to balance exploration with relaxation.

In Vietnam, experiences include a traditional trishaw ride through Tan Chau and opportunities to explore local craftsmen’s workshops, while guests can also venture into the Mekong Delta’s lush Tra Su Forest and Sanctuary by sampan, surrounded by waterways, cajuput trees and abundant birdlife.
