Allianz Partners and the Maui Wildfires

Richmond, VA-based Allianz Partners USA, which provides travel insurance through travel advisors, leading travel suppliers and directly to consumers, estimates that it currently has 12,000 customers in Hawaii, with more than 3,000 scheduled to be currently visiting Maui. The company has begun to reach out to customers visiting Hawaii to offer help with any travel-related problems or provide assistance in filing a claim.

For Allianz Travel Insurance customers currently traveling who need travel assistance, please call us at 1-866-737-5828. Our travel assistance team can help find accommodations and alternative travel options, direct you to an appropriate medical facility and help arrange and manage emergency medical care.

For customers who have trips planned to Maui, many Allianz Travel Insurance plans allow our customers to cancel or interrupt their trip if their destination becomes uninhabitable, if their travel carrier can’t get them to their destination within 24 hours of their originally scheduled arrival due to a natural disaster and when government authorities order a mandatory evacuation due to a natural disaster at their destination that is in effect within 24 hours of their departure date. Trip cancellation coverage may provide a refund of pre-paid, non-refundable trip deposits. Allianz Travel Insurance customers should read their policy for more information or call us with questions. Claims can be filed online at or by using the free Allianz TravelSmart mobile app.

“For many of us at Allianz Partners, Hawaii is a very unique and wonderful place. Our hearts go out to those who have been impacted by the terrible wildfires on Maui. We encourage our customers who may need help to call us and we are proactively reaching out to the thousands of our customers who are scheduled to be on Maui at this time. We are standing by to offer travel assistance to those traveling or provide help in filing a claim to those customers who have had to cancel their trip. The company is also making a donation to the American Red Cross in support of the people of Maui and we invite our associates, partners and customers to find ways to support those affected during this emergency situation.” Daniel Durazo, Director, External Communications, Allianz Partners USA.
