Happy New Year. We are going to start off the New Year looking at the La Collection Resorts better known as the family of Fiesta Americana Resorts owned by the Posada Group. They are split up into four categories of resorts, the Fiesta Americana Resorts, the Grand Fiesta Americana Resorts, the Live Aqua Resorts, and the Explorean Resorts. All of the resorts unique in their own way.
The first ones we are going to look at this month are the Fiesta Americana Resorts. There are 3 of them, all located in Mexico. Cancun, Cozumel, and Puerto Vallarta. The Fiesta Americana All Inclusive Resorts are great 3-3.5 star Family all inclusive resorts located on great beaches in the 3 resort areas of Mexico. The Fiesta Americana Resorts are their lead-in category.
The first one we will look at is the Fiesta Americana Condesa in Cancun. This is a very nice 3.5 star family all inclusive located on the main beach of Cancun. The only warning about this and most of the resorts on the main beach of Cancun is the fact that there is no availability of motorized watersports as the waters on the main beach can become quite rough negating such watersports as kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, and paddle boarding. They do have jet-skis and parasailing that are operated by private vendors on the beach. The cost of these motorized watersports are not included in the resort cost. This resort has undergone a renovation in the last few years. The resort is close to the nightlife and shopping of Cancun.
The accommodations consist of Premium Garden view rooms King, Premium Garden View Rooms 2 Doubles, Premium Lagoon View King, Premium Lagoon View 2 Doubles, Premium Ocean View King, Premium Ocean View 2 Doubles, Premium Ocean Front King, Premium Ocean Front 2 Doubles, and Handicapped Accessible. Remember that the Lagoon View Rooms look over the road toward the lagoon.
Restaurants consist of 10 dining options made up of Italian, Asian, Mexican, a Ceviche bar, a Sushi Bar, a grill for grilled items, a large Buffett, and a Pizzeria. Bars are plentiful including a swim-up bar.
Activities are plentiful but mainly consist of pool and land choices. The beach is beautiful, but the water can be somewhat on the rough side. There is a kid’s club for kids 4-12 including a small water park with slides and a kid’s pool. There is nightly entertainment for the whole family as well as resort activities throughout the day. You are also close to the shopping and nightlife of Cancun.
This resort is great for families or couples that want a very nice 3 star resort on a beautiful beach at a reasonable cost. For those looking for the shopping and nightlife of Cancun this is in a great location to take advantage of that.
The second resort we will look at is the Fiesta Americana Cozumel. This 3 star resort is located on the island of Cozumel just off the coast of Playa Del Carmen. This resort has just gone through a complete remodel. It sits on the ocean, but their beach club sits across the street from the main resort. This resort also has a very small beach as the coast in this area is very rocky. The nice thing is you can enter the water and snorkel right in front of the resort. The Beach Club does have its own restaurant and bar as well as a number of loungers overlooking the ocean. The resort has its own pier where divers can be picked up right from the resort for snorkeling and scuba diving excursions. Remember, the main attraction of Cozumel is its fantastic scuba diving and snorkeling right off the coast.
Accommodations consist of Ocean View, both King and 2 Doubles, Deluxe Room with Pool, both King and 2 Doubles. The resort also has a number of Suites starting with the Master Suite with Ocean View, King bed, Master Suite with pool, King bed, the Governors Suite with 1 King bed and 2 Double beds, the Presidential Suite with 1 King bed and 2 Double beds, the Imperial Suite with 2 King beds and 1 Double bed in 3 Bedrooms, and lastly, the Imperial Suite with Pool with 2 king beds and 1 Double bed in 3 Bedrooms.

Superior Partial Ocean View with 2 Double beds, Deluxe Ocean View Room with 2 Double beds, At the top there is the Fiesta Club rooms with Ocean View and with King bed or 2 double beds. At the Suite level there is the Family Room with 2 double beds and a double sofa bed, Also the Governors Suite with 1 King bed and an Ocean View, and the Ocean View Presidential Suite with 1 King bed.

The resort has a variety of activities including a beautiful beach, a large heated pool, a small kid’s splash pool, nightly entertainment, guided visits to some local sights, and a wonderful kid’s club for kids 4-12 with a lot of indoor and outdoor activities.
This is a great resort for people and families who want to experience Puerto Vallarta, its culture and the beautiful waters of Banderas Bay and the Pacific Ocean in a great moderate 3.5 star all inclusive resort. The resort sits about 15 minutes from the airport. The Puerto Vallarta area is great for those who want to partake in a large number of outdoor activities and the upscale shopping of Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta gives you a truer Mexican experience than most of the other Mexican Resort areas.
This covers our first chapter of the Fiesta Americana Resorts, Next month we will look at the more upscale Grand Fiesta Americana resorts.
Until then good selling and safe travels.
