MIAMI (August 1, 2019) – Occidental at Xcaret Destination, located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, has been recognized by the “Oscars of Tourism” — the prestigious World Travel Awards — during an awards gala that took place recently in La Paz, Bolivia.
Occidental at Xcaret Destination’s vast offerings — including 11 restaurants, 10 bars, seven swimming pools and a private bay — combined with its commitment to providing the best quality and service for guests, has made the resort WTA’s “Leading Conference Hotel of Mexico and Central America.” The 24-hour, all-inclusive resort offers 765 rooms and suites as well as 13,350 sq. ft. of meeting space surrounded by lush gardens and natural rivers. The resort is also adjacent to Xcaret eco-archaeological park, with over 40 cultural attractions and exhibitions.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as the top conference hotel in Mexico and Central America in this year’s World Travel Awards,” said María José Alfaro, Director of Sales & Marketing at Occidental at Xcaret Destination. “This is a great honor, and we look forward to welcoming more groups into 2020 and beyond.”
In recent years, Occidental at Xcaret Destination has served as host to an array of group events including the Bayer Pharmaceuticals Sales Convention – which was attended by more than 600 participants, the Conference of Ibero-American Audiovisual Industry, the Schwarzkopf Professional México product event and more. In addition to providing excellent meeting spaces with state-of-the-art technology, the resort team has capabilities to execute a variety of unique cultural offerings such as Mayan-themed welcome parties and ancient drumming rituals in front of one of the on-property Mayan ruins.
