Viking Marks 15 Years of No NCFs: A Milestone in Travel Advisor Partnership

A Legacy of Partnership and Progress

As Viking marks the 15-year anniversary of eliminating Non-Commissionable Fares (NCFs), the cruise line is reflecting on a pivotal decision that continues to shape its relationship with travel advisors. This industry-first initiative, launched in June 2010, has become a cornerstone of Viking’s commitment to the travel advisor community—one that prioritizes transparency, fairness, and partnership.

The First to Eliminate NCFs

On June 9, 2010, Viking became the first cruise line to remove NCFs and make port charges commissionable. At the time, this bold move redefined how cruise lines could support the travel trade, reinforcing Viking’s belief in the value of advisors as key contributors to the guest experience and long-term success of the brand.

Fifteen years later, Viking’s position has not wavered. The company remains a leader in advisor support, standing by its commission-friendly model as a reflection of its core values.

Celebrating 15 Years with Exclusive Advisor Incentives

To commemorate this significant milestone, Viking is launching several special initiatives throughout June 2025:

  • $150 Extra per Booking: Viking Certified Experts will receive an additional $150 on the Viking Rewards Card for every confirmed Viking booking made during the month of June.
  • 15 Cruise Giveaways: Travel advisors who book any Viking voyage from June 1 to June 30, 2025, and register each booking at viking.com/NoNCFs (link goes live in June), will be entered into a sweepstakes to win one of 15 eight-day river cruise voyages.

To participate, advisors must register for Viking Rewards at viking.com/advisor and complete the Travel Advisor Academy if they haven’t already.

A Continued Commitment to Advisors

By maintaining its No NCFs policy and introducing value-driven promotions, Viking continues to demonstrate how deeply it values its advisor partners. These initiatives not only reward travel advisors for their hard work and loyalty but also reaffirm Viking’s belief that a strong, transparent advisor relationship leads to a stronger guest experience.

Travel advisors are encouraged to take advantage of these limited-time incentives and celebrate 15 years of shared success with Viking.

For full details and to participate, visit viking.com/tradeoffers before June 30, 2025.
