The Small Boat Adventure Company’s Go Fund Me Campaign Will Help Employees Experiencing Hardship from COVID-19
SEATTLE, WA. December 1st, 2020. – Today, UnCruise Adventures released their Crew and Family Business Relief Grant applications with a Go Fund Me campaign. The new relief fund will run through the end of January 2021 to support the most vulnerable foreign communities and small businesses that have worked with the UnCruise Adventures brand. Those crewmembers and small family-owned business vendors who are interested in applying for a relief grant have now through December 31st, 2020 to apply. Candidates can submit directly through the Go Fund Me campaign or by contacting a company representative at grants@uncruise.com.
UnCruise Adventures strongly supports sustainable travel that provides a cultural and educational benefit to its guests. Part of that is provided by the long-lasting relationships created by the 25-year-old company with small vendors, crew, guides, and local experts in the remote areas they visit. The fund will provide micro-grants to qualifying crew members and small family businesses impacted by COVID-19 in Panama, Costa Rica, Baja Mexico, Peru, Belize, and the Galapagos. The company launched the campaign to raise $30,000 USD that will go directly to the micro-grants and will also donate 15% of all gift sales from their online boutique to the campaign.
“The impact of the individuals and cultural representatives we work with provide to the quality and education of our guests cannot be overstated,” states Dan Blanchard, UnCruise Adventures CEO. “We are honored to work with local communities, indigenous tribes, guides and family-owned small businesses and it’s key that we help them get through this pandemic. We hope to raise well beyond our starting fund of $30,000.”
With industry statistics estimating a loss of 100.8 million jobs in the global travel market, UnCruise Adventures understands the importance of providing a lifeline for its UnCruise family standing behind the company’s core value of ‘Do the Right Thing.’
“As a small business ourselves we understand the challenges companies face and our foreign crew and vendors don’t have access to the relief support we have in the United States,” shares Blanchard. “Giving Tuesday is a global movement of giving that also brings it close-to-home. I hope that people share this information to support those affected by the loss of travel jobs. The future of travel and survival of many of these small foreign businesses depend on it.”
Additional information can be found on the company’s website and the Go Fund Me campaign.
Applicants can complete a grant submission online and candidates and donors can contribute to the conversation and share the fund with #DreamBigSupportSmall More at www.uncruise.com
