Secrets Resorts in Jamaica
This month we are going to continue our look at the Secrets Resorts. We are continuing with the Secrets Resorts in Jamaica. They are both located in the Montego Bay area on the way to Negril. They sit next to each other as well as the Breathless Resort in a complex on a peninsula surrounded by water. These resorts are great for couples and singles given the proximity to the nightlife and shopping of Montego Bay. They are about 20 minutes from the airport. The resort would be rated 3.5 – 4 stars. One sits on the end of the peninsula and has more beach space, and the majority of the dining options are a little closer.
The first Secrets Resort we will look at is the Secrets Wild Orchid with 350 accommodations. This resort sits on over 1 mile of beach and is rated AAA 4 Diamond. Guests here have exchange privileges with the Secrets St. James next door.
Accommodations are made up of all Jr. Suites and Suites. They begin with the Garden View Jr. Suite, Jr. Suite Ocean View, then the Jr. Suite Ocean Front. All these Jr. Suites come with King bed or 2 Queen beds. We now move to the Preferred Club, Secrets Concierge level. First, we have the Preferred Club Jr. Suite, the Preferred Club Swim-out Ocean View Jr. Suite. The Preferred Club Jr Suites come with king bed or 2 Queen beds. At the Suite level we have the 1,161 sq ft Preferred Club Master Suite, the 1,161 sq ft Preferred Club Master Swim-out Ocean Front Master Suite, and finally the 1,911 sq ft Preferred Club Presidential Suite. All Accommodations come with up-graded amenities, free WIFI, and 24 hr. room service
Dining options includes 10 dining options, 7 A La Carte restaurants, a Buffet, a Grill, and a Coffee Shop. The 7 A la Carte restaurants consist of Jamaican Caribbean, French, Mexican, Pan Asian, Seafood, Italian, and an upscale grilled item option. There is also 24 hr. room service. As far as drinks, they all serve top shelf alcohol. There are 6 choices, a Lobby bar, 2 swim-up bars, a Cuban bar, a Beach bar, and a Sports bar.
Activities are both water sports, and land activities. In the water they have water aerobics, all non-motorized water sports including sailing, kayaks, windsurfing, and Scuba lessons. Don’t forget the mile long beach. On land there is tennis, bikes, cooking lessons, aerobics, yoga, dance lessons, jogging trail, and a variety of board games. There is a fantastic Spa, and a wonderful destination wedding dept.
This resort is great for romantic vacations, destination weddings, and active adults You get the use of 2 resorts for the price of one. AAA 4 Diamond rated at a great price.
The next Resort we will look at is the Secrets St. James with 350 accommodations. This resort sits next to the Secrets Wild Orchid. This is another AAA 4 Diamond but does price better than the Wild Orchid because of the smaller beach and the Wild Orchid is closer to the majority if the restaurants. A trick, although this beach is smaller you can stay at the Secrets St. James for less money and still have the use of the Secrets Wild Orchid as well as the restaurants at both resorts.
are all Jr. Suites and the same as the Secrets Wild Orchid with different decorations. They are made up of, Jr. Suite Garden View, Jr, Suite Ocean View, Ocean Front. All these categories come with King bed or 2 Queen beds. Next, we have the Preferred Club, Secrets concierge level. The categories are Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean View, Preferred Club Jr. Suite Swim-out Ocean View, the 1,161 sq ft Preferred Club Ocean Front Master Suite, Preferred Club Swim-out 1,161 sq ft Ocean Front Master Suite, and finally the 1,911 sq ft Preferred Club Presidential Suite. This resort is a great value with the same options as the Wild Orchid for less money. The main difference between the two are based on convenience a little different view and closer to the dining options. The décor is still upscale but a different style.
