This month as we continue our exploration of the Playa Resort chain, we will begin our look at the Hyatt Resorts. Playa has partnered with Hyatt to create a product made up of upscale Family all-inclusive resorts, the Hyatt Ziva resorts, and upscale adult only all-inclusive resorts, the Hyatt Zilara resorts. These are the highest rated Playa Resorts. We will begin our tour of the Hyatt Resorts located in the Cancun Hotel zone. As we know Cancun is the place to be for great sunny weather, beautiful beaches, shopping, and wonderful nightlife. The resorts are made up of 1 family all-inclusive and 2, adult only all-inclusive resorts. These are all 4 star resorts.
The first resort we will look at is the Hyatt Zilara, the 4 star adult only resort sits on the main beach in the hotel zone just minutes from the shopping and nightlife of Cancun. This resort used to the old Royal Cancun. The resort sits on a great section of beach and all rooms are Suites or Jr. Suites
Accommodations consist of Garden View King or 2 Doubles Jr. Suite, Ocean View King or 2 Doubles Jr. Suite, Oceanfront King or 2 Doubles Suite, Oceanview King or 2 Queens swim-up Jr. Suite, the 1,300 sq ft. Presidential Suite with King bed. All accommodations come with upgraded amenities, minibar, 24 hr. room service with the magic box. The magic box is a separate box built into the wall with access from the outside and from the inside so room service can be delivered without ever seeing the delivery person.
Dining provides a gourmet selection consisting of 1 International Buffet and 5 A La Carte restaurants serving, Mexican, Asian, Gourmet Mexican, Caribbean, and the intimate Chef’s Plate which requires reservations. As far as bars guests have a choice of 5 bars and lounges starting with a gourmet coffee bar, Swim-up bar, Beach bar, Sports bar, and the Lobby bar.
Activities begin with relaxing by the oceanfront pool in your private cabana. If you want activities there are pool games, cooking classes, and a fully stocked fitness center, A wonderful Spa, and nightly entertainment. You can rent jet skis or go parasailing with the vendors on the beach. There is a great wedding center, and romantic touches like private dinners on the beach
This resort is great for couples or singles looking for an upscale all inclusive experience in the perfect spot to take advantage of a great beach and close to shopping and nightlife.
The next Hyatt Resort we will look at is the Hyatt Ziva Cancun. This great family resort sits right at the elbow of the 7 that makes up the Cancun hotel zone. This great location allows guests to walk to the top shopping and nightclub locations. It has a great beach and view of the Caribbean. There are two resorts at this location. The second one, the Turquoize Cancun, will be the next resort we tour. The Hyatt Ziva Cancun used to be the old Dreams Cancun and before that it was the Camino Real. It also has its own Dolphinarium.
The accommodations consist of the king or 2 doubles with a garden view, next is the King or two Double Resort view, King or two Double resort view, King or two Double Oceanfront, King or Double Oceanfront Club, the Club is the resorts concierge level, King or two Double Dolphin view, King or two Double Swim-up, the 1,300 sq. ft. Pyramid Ocean Front Suite, the 1,000 sq. ft. Club Ocean Front Corner Suite, the 1,500 sq. ft. Club Ocean Front Suite, the 2,100 sq. ft. two bedroom Ocean Front suite, and the 4,300 sq. ft. two bedroom Ocean Front Suite. All rooms and suites have free WIFI, upgraded amenities, mini bar, 24 hr. room service, and large balcony.
As far as dining the resort offers 7 options. They include 1 International Buffet, and 6 A La Carte Restaurants. There is Mexican, Asian, American, Italian, a Steakhouse, a Ceviche bar, An Adults only restaurant, an intimate Chefs Table, and a snack bar. As far as drinks, there is a wide variety of choices, Lobby Bar, microbrew bar, Swim-up bar, specialty drink bar, a pool bar, a roof-top bar, and a coffee bar. Do not forget the 24 hr. room service.
Activities abound at this resort with pool games, a water park for the little ones, a great beach with paddle boards, kayaks, on land, take a Spanish lesson, cooking lesson, dance lesson, nightly entertainment, and morning yoga. For the children there are two kid’s clubs, for kids 4-11 and teens 12-17 with supervised indoor and outdoor activities and kid’s pool. There is a great spa and the wedding dept is second to none. Don’t forget the Dolphinarium where you can swim with the dolphins. This is at an extra cost.
This resort is great for families and singles that want a great family vacation or those that want to take advantage of the location within walking distance of the top nightclubs and the best shopping. Great for weddings where families want separate accommodations close to the adult only acommodations.
The last resort we will look at this month is the Hyatt Ziva Turquoize. This is an Adults only resort that is billed as a separate resort but is actually the adult-only side of the Hyatt Ziva. It sits on the same property as the Hyatt Ziva and shares some of the same amenities. It is also within walking distance of the Cancun nightlife and shopping. Most of the resort is newly built. The tower portion is from the old Dreams resort. There is a small beach section and also use of the Hyatt Ziva beach. It does have a great wedding location right on the point overlooking the Ocean.
Adult only accommodations are made up of Oceanfront king or 2 doubles, Sky Oceanfront king or 2 doubles, Sky Oceanfront swim-up King or 2 Doubles. All Accommodations come with Free WIFI, minibar, upgraded amenities, and 24 hr. room service
Dining offers a number of choices and shares these choices with the Hyatt Ziva. There is one adult only A La Carte restaurant and the others are, 1 International Buffet, and 6 A La Carte Restaurants. There is Mexican, Asian, American, Italian, a Steakhouse, a Ceviche bar, An Adults only restaurant, an intimate Chefs Table, and a snack bar. As far as drinks, there is a wide variety of choices, Lobby Bar, Swim-up bar, specialty drink bar, a pool bar, Microbrew bar, a roof-top bar, and a coffee bar. Do not forget the 24 hr. room service.
Activities here mimic the Hyatt Ziva without the Kid’s Club. Activities at this resort are, pool games, a great beach with paddle boards, kayaks, on land, take a Spanish lesson, cooking lesson, dance lesson, nightly entertainment, and morning yoga. There is a great spa and the wedding dept is second to none. Don’t forget the Dolphinarium where you can swim with the dolphins. This is at an extra cost.
This resort would be good for adults who want to be at a fun adult only resort close to the action of Cancan. It would also be an excellent choice for destination weddings when there will be guests needing family accommodations and adults attending the wedding that require adult only accommodations. I would rate this a 4 star resort.
Next month we will continue our tour of the Playa Resort family. Until then stay safe and good selling.
