As we continue our tour of the AM Resort chain our next stop is going to be the Breathless resorts. Breathless was a new adult only resort concept developed by AM Resorts a few years ago. Their thought process was that the Adult Only All Inclusive Resort concept, as it stood, catered to the romantic crowd, Destination Weddings, Honeymoons, Romantic vacations. They felt there was a large adult audience, of all ages, within and outside of the romantic themed vacation niche that was not being addressed. This was the active, very social adult only market with activities all day and parties into the night. They even added some communal dining options in their restaurants where clients could sit with other clients and socialize.
This whole concept took off and has been wildly successful. They developed their resorts, so they have 2 or 3 separate sections. The quieter section, the social section and the party section with interaction allowed between all the sections. They still do Destination weddings, Honeymoons and Romantic vacations but in a more active environment. The newer market they have attracted is the market of clients who want an adult only resort but not necessarily a romantic setting but in a more social and active setting. They can accomplish this because they are adult only resorts rather than couples only, so they are great for active groups, Bachelor & Bachelorette groups, as well as girls and guys get a ways. These resorts do not have wristbands, and they don’t require reservations at their specialty restaurants. A new feature that Breathless has implemented is, special Suites where clients can bring their small dogs with them. The Breathless concept has been so successful that AM Resorts is opening new Breathless Resorts as fast as they can. They are now up to 4. Let’s look at them now.
BREATHLESS PUNTA CANA
This is the original Breathless Resort. It sits on a beautiful beach. Their motto is “Live big and breath deep”. It has unique monthly themes. June, for example is “Flower Power”, enjoy 70s style parties all over again, with body painting and free style dancing classes. There are activities all day and themed style parties into the night.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The resort has 750 Suite accommodations ranging from the Allure Jr Suite Tropical/Garden View up to the Allure Swim-up Jr. Suite and the Allure Partial Ocean View. They have their Concierge section which is also the quieter section called the Xhale Club ranging from the Jr Suite Pool View, the Swim-up Jr. suite and up to the Xhale Presidential Suite with 1 bedroom, kitchen, living room and 2 bathrooms. The size is 2,686 Sq. Ft. All Suites come with either a king bed or two double beds. They also now offer accommodations that allow you to bring your small dog. All accommodations contain, 24 hr. room service, upgraded toiletries, minibar stocked daily, free WIFI, and whirlpool tub on the balcony.
DINING
As far as dining options there are 8 A La Carte restaurants, 1 grill and a buffet. Dining options offer French, International, Mediterranean, Mexican, Pan Asian, Latin, Italian, Coffee and pastries, and a selection of grilled items. There are 8 bars, lounges, and nightclubs for your enjoyment including a swim-up bar, all serving premium alcohol.
ACTIVITIES
Here is where the Breathless Resorts really shine. There are enough activities and parties to keep you busy almost 24 hrs. a day. You have to have a few down hours to rest up for the next round of activities. In the water there is sailing, kayaks, paddle boarding, Kite surfing, snorkeling, 8 pools with a mixture of active and quiet pools, and 4 hot tubs. On land there are theme parties every night, games and activities by the active pool all day, live shows, beach parties, big screen movies on the beach, a casino, Aerobic classes, dance classes, Spanish classes, tennis, paddleball, and beach volleyball. This is an active resort.
The ideal client for this resort is anyone with a pulse. Actually, it is great for honeymoons, Destination weddings, Romantic vacations, Groups, or singles that want an adult only all-inclusive that does not shut down at 10:00 at night. Clients that want an active and social resort with activities all day and into the night are ideal for this resort.
BREATHLESS RIVIERA CANCUN
The next Breathless Resort we are going to look at is the Breathless Riviera Cancun located in the Riviera Maya between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. This resort is a little larger resort but with the same vibe as the other Breathless Resorts. It sits about 20 minutes from the airport along a great stretch of beach. It sits just down the beach from the Azul Sensatori Resort. This resort has 526 suites and is also divided into 3 sections. The Xhale Club, the quieter section and the concierge section, the Allure section, a very social section where most of the public areas and restaurants are located, and the accelerator section for those who want to party hardy. The resort is great for adults looking for a sophisticated up-scale lively environment.
ACCOMMODATIONS
You can select your client’s accommodations based on what they are looking for in their resort experience. Accommodations, in the Xhale Club section, provide an up-scale quieter concierge level section where the client is looking for luxury and relaxation. Clients in the Xhale Club section can use all the facilities and the other two sections of the resort. Accommodations in the Xhale section range from Oceanview Jr. Suite, Swim-out Jr. Suites, Ocean Front Jr Suites, and up to one bedroom Presidential Ocean Front suites and one bedroom Presidential swim-out Suites.
The middle section is the Allure section of the resort or the social section which provides a more social active section and the main activity pool. The accommodations in this section range from Oceanview Jr Suites, Ocean Front Jr. Suites, and Garden View Swim-out Jr Suites. This section will be more active and slightly noisier than the Xhale section.
The third section, the Accelerator section, is the most active section. It is here where clients can party late into the night. In this section the accommodations consist of, Garden View Jr Suites, Ocean View Jr Suites, Ocean Front Jr Suites, and Resort View Swim-out Jr Suites.
Remember that the Allure sections and the Accelerator sections cannot use the amenities of the Xhale/Concierge section.
DINING
At the Breathless Riviera Cancun the dining options are excellent and varied. They consist of, The Barefoot Grill, serving a variety of Grill Items. Bites, a small plate and Tapas restaurant, Coquette, a French dining option, Kibbeth, a Lebanese and Middle East eating establishment, Picante, serving Mexican fare, Silk City a great Pan Asian restaurant, Spoon, the fantastic Buffet option, Spumante, the Italian eatery, The Strip Grill, their fine Steak restaurant. They also have the Nook, the coffee and pastry bar.
ACTIVITIES
As with the other Breathless Resorts here is where they really shine, the number of activities you can participate in, on a voluntary basis of course. The list is wide and varied. From activities all day and into the night there is something for everyone. There are 3 pools and the pool in the Accelerator pool there is a DJ to dance to all day and you can even dance in the pool at night. Jump into the 35 person hot tub, take in a live show and nightly entertainment, play tennis or a game of pool, participate in water aerobics, work out in the fitness Center, take a fitness class, enjoy a snorkeling lesson, or paddle a kayak. If you want, you can also do nothing at all but relax and reconnect.
This resort is great for Destination weddings, Honeymoons, Bachelor Parties, Bachelorette Parties, and girls and guys get a ways. This resort fits the client looking for an active social adults only resort where they can relax but have the option of participating in endless activities all day and into the night.
BREATHLESS CABO SAN LUCAS
This resort is a beautiful resort on Medano Beach, one of the few swimmable beaches in the Los Cabos area. It is also within walking distance of the downtown Cabo area. A couple of things to remember about this resort is that the public spaces sit on Medano Beach facing the ocean and the Arch but, the accommodations face the Cabo San Lucas Marina and the town of Cabo San Lucas, a beautiful view but make sure your clients understand that there are no Ocean Front accommodations at the Breathless Cabo San Lucas. This resort tends to have a party environment with a roof top pool and party area with a fantastic view of the Arch. This tends to fit right in with the party scene of Cabo San Lucas. There is a quiet pool by the accommodations area. The resort has what they call a “High Energy, socially sophisticated, mix and mingle” atmosphere. It is a smaller resort with only 169 Suites.
ACCOMMODATIONS
All the Suites at this resort except their entry level Suites, the Allure Suites are Xhale/Concierge level Suites. The highest level 1 and 3 bedroom Xhale Suites have an Ocean View out of one window and a Marina View out of the second window. All the other Suites have a Marina View. Again, there are no Ocean Front Suites. All Suites come with King bed or 2 double beds except for the Romance Suites which only come with a king bed.
DINING
Dining at the resort offers a variety of choices as well as discounted prices at one of the top off-site restaurants. The dining consists of the Barefoot grill which serves burgers and snacks on the beach, fishnets, with Grilled specialties, Kibbeh, serving Middle eastern Cuisine, Spoon, their International Buffet, Spumante, the Italian eatery, Bites, their small plate and Tapas restaurant, and the Nook, their Coffee and snack area. They also offer discounted dining, for those in the Xhale Suites, at Biblioteca Mexican Table, one of the top off-site restaurants in Cabo san Lucas. They do also offer a private dining tasting menu option that is at an additional cost. The resort sits just down the beach from one of the most popular dining option in Cabo, The Office, which has their tables set up right on the beach at water’s edge.
ACTIVITIES
As with all the Breathless Resorts Activities rule. Activities all day and party into the night or just relax. In the water you can swim, kayak, take a snorkeling lesson or just relax on the beach. There are weekly theme pool parties, nightly entertainment, DJs and music both day and night, mixology classes, tequila tasting, Zumba classes, Yoga, water aerobics, and active pool and a quiet pool. There is always going into town for some of the best shopping and nightlife anywhere.
This resort is suited for the active adult looking for an adult only environment that provides an active party scene. It works for Destination Weddings, Honeymoons, is perfect for girls or guys get a ways, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and also incentive trips.
BREATHLESS MONTEGO BAY
The last Breathless resort we are going to look at is the Breathless Montego Bay. Located on a peninsula with the 2 Secret Resorts just outside of Montego Bay, this is AM Resorts newest Breathless Resort. You do need to know that this resort sits behind the Secrets St. James Resort on the Bay side of the peninsula so, the beach for the resort is right next to the Secrets St. James beach. It is also a great party resort and the 3 AM Resorts are the closest resorts to the Hip Strip of Montego Bay where the nightclubs are located and only 15 minutes from the airport. This is a smaller resort and only has 150 Suites. The resort also has exchange privileged with the Secrets Wild Orchid and the Secrets St. James.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Accommodations come in two flavors, the standard allure Jr. Suites with Allure Tropical View and Allure Ocean View. Then there is the Xhale Club or their Concierge Club which has a number of different categories starting with Ocean View Jr Suite, be careful, the Ocean View is really a Bay View. We then have the Jr. Suite Swim-up, one bedroom Master Suite, Master Suite Swim-out, and the 1,600 Sq Ft 1 bedroom Presidential Suite. Exhale Club clients in an Ocean View or higher category will get Butler Service.
DINING
The dining options consist of the Bare Buns grill with hamburgers and casual Jamaican fare, an International Buffet, and 4 Specialty Restaurants. The specialty restaurants include Altitudes, the roof top restaurant serving Fusion Fare, Culinaria, serving Caribbean fare, Fish Nets with Seafood fare, and Sofrito with a Latin influence. Guests will have another 11 dining options using the exchange privileges with the two Secrets Resorts right next door.
ACTIVITIES
Activities abound at the Breathless Montego Bay. Let’s start with the only roof-top pool in Jamaica with fantastic views. There is a main pool with a DJ as well as games and activities all day long. The resort has its own Beach Club, next to the Secrets St. James. The beach club has its own private section with Palapas, a Grill and bar, as well as beach waiter service. In the water there is sailing, snorkeling, kayaks, glass bottom boat tours, wake boarding, knee boarding, water skiing, windsurfing, Parasailing, and scuba diving. As most resorts, non-motorized water sports are included with the others at an additional cost.
On the land there are Theme parties every night, Foam parties, Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Firepits and cabanas, Dance lessons, you also have exchange privilege with the two Secrets Resorts and their activities, and if this is not enough, you are 10 minutes away from the HIP Strip where the local nightclubs are located.
This resort would, again, be great for Destination weddings, Honeymoons, especially for clients who want an active social adult only resort. Remember this is not a couples only but is adult only resort with a make-up of King beds and Double beds.
