Tradewind Aviation Grows Bahamian Network with New Route to Nassau and Expansion of Out Island Service from Fort Lauderdale

The introduction of new routes and expanded capacity strengthens Tradewind’s position in the Bahamas, offering guests more convenient, year-round access to the islands with efficient and reliable service.

August 7, 2025 (Oxford, Connecticut)Tradewind Aviation, the award-winning private aviation specialist and pioneer of the shared charter concept, is pleased to announce the expansion of its scheduled service to the Bahamas. Building on the success and strong demand for its existing service to Marsh Harbour (MHH/MYAM) and North Eleuthera (ELH/MYEH) from Stuart, Florida (SUA/KSUA), Tradewind will continue both routes this winter season, while adding new routes from Fort Lauderdale (FLL/KFLL) to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera. A new scheduled service route to Nassau (NAS/MYNN) from Stuart is also set to debut in December.

The expanded Bahamas routes will triple Tradewind’s flight capacity to the Bahamas and introduce Nassau as the newest scheduled service destination reachable via Tradewind Aviation. Service to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera will commence from Fort Lauderdale this December, providing travelers from South Florida and beyond with convenient connectivity and direct access. All flights will depart from private jet terminals and operate in Tradewind’s modern fleet of Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, offering a premium travel experience complete with two-pilot operations, an air-conditioning and pressurized cabin, comfortable leather seating, and complimentary onboard snacks and refreshments.

“Our extended schedule, new routes from Fort Lauderdale, and introduction of service to Nassau are in direct response to the strong, growing demand we’ve seen for convenient, comfortable, and personalized service to the Bahamas,” said David Zipkin, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Tradewind Aviation. “We’re thrilled to enhance access to these sought-after destinations and provide our guests with more flexible options year-round.”

Scheduled service from Stuart will continue to connect travelers to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera through the winter months, on a convenient schedule that operates Thursday through Monday. Inaugural service to Nassau from Stuart is set to begin December 11 and will initially be available for booking through April 20, 2026. These flights will also be available Thursday through Sunday each week, with fares starting at $229 one-way, plus tax.

Departures from Tradewind’s newest South Florida presence, Fort Lauderdale, will depart from the Sheltair FBO at Hollywood International Airport, and are set to takeoff to the Out Islands of the Bahamas on December 11. This schedule, also available for booking through April 20, 2026, offers flights to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera from Thursday through Monday. Fares start at $249 one-way, plus tax.

About Tradewind Aviation

Tradewind Aviation was founded in 2001 by brothers Eric and David Zipkin, who grew their shared passion for flying into one of the nation’s leading providers of personal air travel – both private and scheduled service. Guided by a belief that every flight is an opportunity to create an exceptional client experience, Tradewind’s unique approach to flying is less harrowing than flying commercial and more intimate than flying private. It is flying personal.

Headquartered in Oxford, Connecticut, Tradewind operates from key bases at Westchester County Airport (NY), Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (Puerto Rico), and Witham Field (Stuart, FL).  With a fleet of 33 Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, Tradewind provides both private and scheduled service to highly sought after destinations in North America and the Caribbean. Scheduled service combines the convenience and comfort of private aviation with the affordability of individual seat pricing.

In the U.S., routes connect the New York area with Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, while Caribbean flights operate between San Juan and key island destinations such as St Barths, Anguilla, Virgin Gorda, and Tortola. Scheduled flights from Tradewind’s newest Southeast region include service from Stuart and Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera, and Stuart to Nassau.

A recognized leader in sustainable aviation, Tradewind implemented a fully funded carbon offset program into their business model in January 2022. In partnership with 4Air, 100% of flights meet a Level 1 Carbon Neutral rating. As of May 2025, Tradewind is proud to have offset more than 57,496 metric tons of CO₂.
