National Harbor Launches Gratitude Garden for COVID-19 Relief in Partnership with Washington Nationals NATS4GOOD Fund

New digital campaign encourages visitors to share statements of gratitude to support pandemic impacted communities

National Harbor, MD, July 8, 2020 – Flowers blossom in more ways than one at National Harbor as the waterfront destination, located just outside of Washington, D.C., launches its virtual Gratitude Garden. In partnership with Nationals Philanthropies – the philanthropic branch of the Washington Nationals, National Harbor invites the public to digitally submit a personal statement of gratitude to create a shared spirit of positivity, solidarity and hope during a difficult time in the community and around the world. Each gratitude submitted will be matched by a $5 donation from National Harbor, to the NATS4GOOD Community Response Fund to support local communities. There is no cost to submit an entry.

The four-week digital campaign can be found on National Harbor’s homepage, where visitors will see the Gratitude Garden “blossom” as they share anecdotes, experiences or moments for which they are grateful. Each submission is transformed into a floral-inspired digital tile that is then “planted” in the ever-growing online garden, updated in real-time to show the growth of community gratitude as each new story is added. Visitors can also save their personal gratitude tiles to share on social media to encourage their friends to participate.

Recognizing that the Washington Nationals are one of the area’s beloved teams and sports often serve as a beacon of hope for society through difficult times, National Harbor is partnering with the NATS4GOOD Community Response Fund to best reach the needs of the community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The NATS4GOOD fund has dedicated itself to supporting local nonprofit organizations in their implementation of health services, food access initiatives, and human services for communities in need.
