MTravel 2016 Conference a Success with Travel Agents

Top 5 Host Winds Up Its Largest Educational Event to Date

Montrose, CA, September 21, 2016 – MTravel™, the host agency division of Montrose Travel, has wrapped its eighth and largest Annual Educational Conference aboard the new Norwegian Escape. Attendees experienced a new approach to MTravel’s professional development, including a longer itinerary, more peer-interactive educational sessions and increased options for destination training in the classroom as well as in St. Thomas, Tortola and Nassau.

Survey Reveals Agent and Supplier Involvement Key to Conference Success
Early survey results for the conference revealed the 2016 agenda to be the Top 5 host’s most popular and successful to date. “This year’s conference providedexcellent sessions with both suppliers and peers,” said Valerie Dubos, an agent attendee. “I learned so much. I’m motivated to go home and work on training and building my business.”

Among the highest-rated changes to the conference agenda were MTravel’s new co-teaching collaborations with its experienced independent travel agents. “Our conference distinguishes itself from those of other hosts by being sculpted by agent feedback,” said Mysza. “Their input is invaluable, and we featured their knowledge more broadly than ever in peer panels and individual sessions this year.” Eighteen different supplier partners also lent their expertise by blending product knowledge with practical skills, teaching on affordable marketing, building group travel, client acquisition and more.

New Features and Benefits Coming for MTravel’s Independent Travel Professionals
The conference also allowed the host to announce new features and benefits coming in 2017. Significant changes include a complete redesign and release of Montrose Travel’s award-winning consumer website, a new and improved Agent Connex 2.0, MTravel’s agent back-office portal, and the potential formation of an agent-led Advisory Board. Additionally, MTravel revealed the inclusion of Corporate Travel Management’s independent travel agents under the MTravel umbrella. CTM acquired Montrose Travel in January 2016, giving its affiliates access to MTravel’s programs as well as its future educational conferences.

“It’s an honor to partner with agents and suppliers of this caliber,” said Mysza. “Their feedback affirms that each conference improves on the last. We’re excited to see where 2017 leads us.” The host plans to announce the date and location of its 2017 Annual Educational Conference later this fall.
