Mexico City (September 18, 2019) – Last week, the Mexico City Tourism Board was present at the 2019 edition of IMEX America in Las Vegas, one of the most important meetings industry shows of the year. Representatives met with more than 20 meeting planners, associations, and buyers from across the globe who expressed a growing interest in the bustling metropolis for corporate meetings, events, congresses and incentive groups. Mexico City is committed to growing the meetings market, an industry that contributed USD $25 billion to the country’s economy last year.
“The meetings, incentive, convention and events industry is a top priority for the Mexico Tourism Board,” explains the CEO, Paola Felix Diaz. “Mexico City has made major investments in its venues, infrastructure, services, security and more, making it an ideal destination for all types of events. We hope to continue attracting these important occasions by facilitating the process and offering incentives.”
Earlier this year, the Mexico Tourism Board established a dedicated MICE department to attend to the growing demand and further develop relationships in key markets, including the U.S, Canada, and Europe. In addition to IMEX America, the Organization is participating in other important industry shows around the global such as JATA Tourism Expo in Japan next month and World Travel Market in London in November.
