Leading with Excellence: A Message from Diane Petras on The Travel Institute’s Triple Win

3 Years, 3 Awards: Our Trifecta in Industry Recognition for Excellence

The Travel Institute was recently awarded another Magellan—this time a Silver for our PEP Talks complimentary microlearning lecture series. Led by an all-star roster of experts from The Travel Institute’s Professional Educators Program, PEP Talks is mission critical today, filling the knowledge gap with timely, impactful, microlearning sessions that keep advisors sharp on a variety of topics in an ever-evolving industry.

As an independent, non-profit organization, The Travel Institute’s well-declared mission is high-quality, affordable, accessible education for all travel professionals at all career stages. Setting the industry’s education standard 60+ years ago, The Travel Institute has maintained its position as the industry’s education leader; we are both proud and grateful for Magellan’s recognition of the same. Along with our newest Magellan for PEP Talks, we received Magellan Gold Awards for our TRIPKIT new agent training and Certified Travel Associate, or CTA©, program in 2023 and 2024, respectively. While each award is incredibly special, our “trifecta” in industry recognition for the excellence these awards collectively represent at all stages of learning is truly exceptional—for us and for our industry.

As we continually raise the professionalism bar, Magellan’s recognition is both validating and empowering—for us as educators and for all travel professionals seeking to learn and advance their careers. On behalf of our entire team, sincere thanks to:

  • the Magellan Award judging panel, a who’s who of the industry’s best and brightest. Their recognition is critical in validating our work AND education options;
  • the many front-line agents, agency owners and managers, and organizations who have made us their education partner of choice; and
  • our subject matter experts and other volunteers for their ongoing expertise and generosity in ensuring our content is both accurate and continuously relevant.

Cheers to all the 2025 Magellan winners; it’s an incredible honor we share! Cheers too for our students, graduates, partners, and all supporters. We share this award with all of you and pledge our continued pursuit of educational excellence ongoing to create and maintain true travel advisors.
