Hotel Xcaret Mexico Promises a Taste of Mexico

Grupo Xcaret’s poised to position the brand’s first hotel as the backdrop for celebrating the best of Mexican cuisine with launch of gastronomy centric series of events.

Riviera Maya, Mexico – February 21, 2019 – Hotel Xcaret Mexico, Grupo Xcaret’s first ALL-FUN INCLUSIVE® hotel, is pleased to announce the first of a series of quarterly events to take place throughout 2019 celebrating Mexican gastronomy. Kicking off with a multicourse dinner taking place at the property’s most exclusive eatery —HA Restaurant — on February 23, noted culinary visionaries are offering hotel guests and VIPs a taste of the gastronomy that sets Mexico apart from other destinations. The evening will be hosted by the first Mexican chef to receive a Michelin Star, Carlos Gaytan, who also serves as the restaurant’s executive chef.

The exclusive dining experience will also feature creations by Michelin-starred Chef Paco Mendez of Barcelona’s Hoja Santa, critically acclaimed Chef Alejandro Ruiz of Casa Oaxaca, Chef Jonatan Gomez from Le Chique at Azul Beach Resort, Alexis Valera, a S. Pellegrino Young Chef Africa and the Middle East semifinalist and chef at HA restaurant, and Orlando Trejo, executive chef at Hotel Xcaret Mexico. The menu, curated by Gaytan, will honor HA’s meaning in the Mayan language (water), as all ingredients and techniques are prepared and enhanced by natural water. Plates will be paired with locally-sourced fine wines.

“Hotel Xcaret Mexico represents and celebrates the best of Mexico, and authentic gastronomy is an invaluable component of the inimitable spirit of both our country and this singular property,” said Marcos Constandse, VP of Finance and Business Administration at Grupo Xcaret. “Partnering with unrivaled culinary visionaries such as Carlos Gaytan, Paco Mendez, Jonatan Gomez Alejandro Ruiz and our very own Orlando Trejo and Alexis Valera is a testament to our commitment to bringing the best of Mexico to life for our valued guests. We couldn’t think of a better all-star team to kick off the first of what are certain to be memorably delicious events to come throughout 2019.”

This event is only one of the many ways Hotel Xcaret Mexico embraces culinary tourism. Beyond HA, the upscale 900-suite hotel is home to other eateries that promise guests a culinary journey through global flavors, with Mexican gastronomy, declared by UNESCO an Intangible Cultural Heritage, always taking center-stage. From Mercado de la Merced, a buffet-style market offering traditional Mexican cuisine and American favorites, to Las Cuevas, nestled between the property’s caves and serving local specialties with a twist, Hotel Xcaret Mexico offers guests multiple dining options that highlight Mexico’s distinctive culture and flavors.

As part of Hotel Xcaret Mexico’s commitment to elevating the all-inclusive experience, hotel guests have access to all restaurants and bars, except HA, which requires a previously scheduled reservation and surcharges apply. Guests also receive complimentary access to Grupo Xcaret’s eight nature parks and tours, free airport transfers, concierge services, among other benefits.
