Hilton Downtown Miami Celebrates Hilton’s 100th Anniversary

HILTON MIAMI DOWNTOWN CELEBRATES HILTON’S 100th ANNIVERSARY WITH NEW “HANDWRITTEN MURAL” BY LOCAL ARTIST

MIAMI (April 2, 2019) – Hilton, the first global hotel organization, is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2019 – and Hilton Miami Downtown is commemorating this momentous occasion with a reinvigorated employee entrance created in partnership with local artist Renda Writer. The property, located in the heart of Miami’s Performing Arts District, believes its team members are its most valuable asset and coming into work should inspire them before they even walk through the door.

The recently unveiled entrance features vibrant murals and key inspiring words and quotes, all rendered with Miami’s signature vintage colors. There’s also a quote on display from Hilton founder and namesake Conrad Hilton: “To accomplish big things… you must first dream big dreams.”

“As Hilton turns 100 years young in 2018, the Hilton Miami Downtown wanted to celebrate our driving force: our valued team members,” said Sirle Martorell, Hotel Manager at Hilton Miami Downtown. “Renda understood our vision immediately. In order to truly connect with our guests, we need to energize our internal staff so that they’re inspired to provide the best service to our guests.”

Renda Writer is a renowned Miami-based artist whose unique “Handwritten Murals” have captured the imaginations (and Instagram feeds) of both the city’s locals and its millions of visitors.

“I am so grateful I had the chance to create one of my signature Handwritten Murals at the Hilton Downtown Miami’s employee entrance,” Renda said. “Incorporating the Hilton Pillars with my ‘Love Wall’ style was a fun customization to my usual style, and I hope it brings joy to all the employees every day when they go to work.”

Over the last century, Hilton has grown from a single hotel in Cisco, Texas, to nearly 5,500 hotels and 14 brands in 106 countries and territories. Hilton hotels have hosted more than 3 billion guests since 1919 and enlisted nearly 10 million Team Members in the company’s mission to fill the Earth with the light and warmth of hospitality.
