Following a final personal meeting in late 2025, G Adventures’ founder shares three enduring lessons from Dr. Goodall
April 2, 2026 – On April 3, 2026, Dr. Jane Goodall DBE would have celebrated her 92nd birthday. Now officially recognised as ‘Jane Goodall Day’, G Adventures pays tribute to the late Dr. Goodall and marks its commitment to continuing her legacy and work with a renewed ten-year-partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada.
The partnership, personally endorsed by Dr. Goodall before her passing, will see the continuation of Jane’s extraordinary work in conservation, community-led initiatives, and wildlife protection around the world.
As part of the renewed partnership, the Jane Goodall Collection of trips with G Adventures will continue to offer travelers immersive, wildlife-focused experiences across the globe. The collection features 19 trips in 16 destinations, including Borneo, the Galapagos Islands, Uganda, Botswana, Costa Rica, and Antarctica. Each itinerary carries a legacy endorsement from Dr. Goodall and, like all G Adventures tours, upholds the company’s Animal Welfare Policy, ensuring travellers can experience the natural world responsibly while respecting the species that call it home.
“We are thrilled to be extending our historic and impactful partnership with G Adventures. Together, we are making a positive and lasting difference for animals, people, and the environment, as we continue to carry Dr. Jane’s legacy forward,” says Bella Lam, Chief Executive Officer of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada.
A portion of every booking supports the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, helping to fund conservation efforts and community programs that protect wildlife and improve livelihoods.
“Jane was a huge inspiration to me personally, a great friend and a Global Ambassador for G Adventures,” says G Adventures founder, Bruce Poon Tip. “Our conversations over the years provided me with many lessons, some of which I am sharing with our travellers today in memory of Jane. Our last in-person meeting, just a few weeks before she passed, showed Jane continuing to champion and advocate for the change we need to see in the world.
Our new 10 year commitment to the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada is one very close to my heart and I’m proud to continue supporting the great work that Jane dedicated her life to,” he adds.
The conversation between Bruce and Dr. Jane, recorded in September 2025, can be viewed here.
Through their friendship and collaboration, Bruce highlights three enduring lessons from Dr. Goodall that continue to guide both him and the company:
We all have a choice in the impact we make
“Jane often reminded us that every single day, we choose the kind of difference we make in the world. Today, on her birthday, I call on our global community of travellers to think about what that action looks like when they travel and how they can leave a positive mark on the places and people they encounter”.
Understanding creates compassion—and action
“Jane believed that when people see the world with their own eyes, they begin to care. Travel has the power to build empathy and inspire people to protect what they might otherwise never understand”.
Hope is a powerful force for change
“Despite the challenges facing our planet, Jane never lost hope. She believed in the resilience of nature and the ability of individuals, especially young people, to create meaningful change”

About G Adventures
G Adventures isn’t just a travel company, we’re a movement. Since 1990, when social entrepreneur Bruce Poon Tip set out to change the way people see the world, we’ve been leading the way in community tourism and small-group adventure travel. With more than 1,000 life-changing trips in 100 countries across all seven continents, we help travellers connect deeply with local people, cultures, landscapes and wildlife, all while having a blast.
But it doesn’t stop there. With us, travel is about passion, purpose, and making a difference. Our ‘G for Good’ social impact commitments ensure every journey supports local communities, with over 130 community tourism projects powered by our non-profit partner, Planeterra, and our industry-first Ripple Score™, which tracks how much of our travellers’ money stays local. And through our Trees for Days initiative, we’ve planted over 5 million trees (and counting), one for every traveller, every day they are on trip with us, helping communities and the planet to thrive together.
At G Adventures, we believe in changing lives through travel, and not just for the traveler. Our unique company culture fuels a global community that transcends borders, connecting people with purpose and spreading joy, curiosity, and humanity in everything we do. We’re not just about seeing the world, we’re about making it better, together.
