Family Bonds Foundation Supports Ukraine Relief Efforts with $13,000 Donation

Charitable foundation supporting Global Empowerment Mission and their work with Ukrainian refugees

 

IRVING, TX (April 7, 2022) – The Family Bonds Foundation, a Travel Leaders Group initiative which serves the charitable needs of those who work within the travel industry as well as the broader community, has made a donation to Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) to support the vital work being done to get aid into and refugees out of Ukraine. Family Bonds has raised $13,000 for relief funds.

 

GEM is a well-respected charity founded in 2011 to serve as a first responder to global disasters. They have worked in situations all over the world to “complete 360-degree response results in having a long-lasting institutional impact.” In addition to being the preferred charity partner for the Ukraine crisis for the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), GEM’s travel agency partner in Poland is Why Not Travel, part of the Travel Leaders international network.

 

“As this humanitarian crisis wages on, it was important to Family Bonds that we work with an organization that is highly experienced in order to do the most good,” said Jackie Friedman, President of the Family Bonds Foundation and Nexion Travel Group. “ASTA’s partnership with GEM provided us the perfect opportunity to contribute to a charity that is on the ground in the middle of this situation, actively working with Ukrainians. We are very proud to support GEM in their life-saving efforts.”

 

The Family Bonds Foundation was created to support families, children and communities who are experiencing hardships. Grants are awarded based on a wide variety of charitable needs ranging from natural disasters to illness to other types of financial hardship.
