“From views of white and blue houses to a traditional pottery lesson and wine and olive oil tastings, this new tour lets you experience the spirit of the Cyclades – you’ll see it, feel it and taste it,” said Laurens Winkel, CEO of Boat Bike Tours. “Each day, you’ll explore from pretty harbors to mountain villages with e-bikes easing the way, then you’ll settle in aboard one of our smallest and most luxurious ships as the sun sets over the Aegean Sea. It’s authentic Greece, as you picture it.”
Island Biking and Culture
The Iconic Cyclades PLUS tour begins on Mykonos with a relaxing night in a four-star hotel, then a morning walking tour through Mykonos Chora to see the maze-like old town, vibrant fish market and Little Venice historic district.
Boarding the M/Y Virtuoso, guests will spend the rest of the tour boating from island to island and biking from ports into the hills. Highlights include:
- On the “Holy Island” of Tinos, visit the picturesque old town and the famous Panagia Evangelistria church, savor a wine tasting and views of the Aegean Sea at the Vaptistis Winery, and ride past Venetian dovecotes and through a boulder-strewn landscape to the village of Volax.
- Tour Ermoupolis and its Apollon Theater and Church of St. Nicholas on Syros, then bike along the island’s rugged southern coast to a swim stop at Galissas Beach and the Monastery of St. Barbara.
- On Sifnos, explore the picturesque port of Kamares and its ceramic studios, and pedal to the beautifully preserved cliffside village of Kastro. In Apollonia, take part in a pottery workshop to learn traditional techniques passed down through generations.
- Cycle to Antiparos’ famed cave, filled with some of Europe’s oldest stalactites and stalagmites, and enjoy a swim at Agios Georgios Beach.
- On Paros, spend an afternoon and evening in Naoussa, one of the prettiest harbors in the Cyclades with its whitewashed houses, colorful fishing nets and romantic lights.
- Ride through the mountainous interior of Naxos to a tasting of prized local olive oil in Eggares and the Demeter Sanctuary in Sangri, then explore Naxos Chora on foot, seeing its iconic marble Portara gateway and Venetian castle.
- And on UNESCO-listed Delos, the mythical birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, tour the stunning archaeological site’s ancient temples, markets and homes. Also enjoy a swim stop in the crystal clear waters off nearby Rhenia Island before returning to Mykonos.
