Avoya Travel and Tern Expand Partnership After Seeing 60% Higher Close Rates
Nov. 2, 2026 – Avoya Travel®, a host agency supporting more than 2,200 independent travel advisors and $600 million in annual sales, is expanding its partnership with Tern, the AI-powered operating system for travel businesses, following a review of advisor results. The findings showed that advisors using Tern to manage Avoya Live Leads™ communications achieved an average close rate approximately 60% higher than those who did not use the platform.
Under the expanded agreement, every independent agency owner and independent licensed agent in the Avoya Network can request a Tern account at no additional cost after completing onboarding through Avoya University™. Accounts are included in their affiliation fees, and the agreement more than doubles the number of Tern subscriptions available across the network. The companies will also connect Tern to Agent Power, Avoya’s in-house technology system for booking administration, commissions, and reporting, through a one-way sync from Tern to Agent Power.
Live Leads is Avoya’s program for routing traveler inquiries to advisors in its network and one of the primary ways those advisors grow their businesses.
Avoya’s data also shows that clients selected the higher-priced option approximately 50%–60% of the time when presented with multiple travel options, a common practice within Tern.
“Our business is built on helping independent advisors grow, so every tool we put in front of them has to earn its place,” said Phil Cappelli, Chief Executive Officer of Avoya Travel. “The results we’ve seen with Tern made expanding access an easy decision. This partnership gives more advisors access to tools that can help them serve their clients and grow their businesses.”
“Live Leads is how many of our advisors grow their business, so we watch closely for what helps them close,” said Danny Dobrott, Senior Director of Network Success at Avoya Travel. “Advisors using Tern to manage their Live Leads communications are achieving higher close rates. That’s the return we look for.”
“Avoya gave Tern the opportunity to prove its value with a focused group of advisors, then expanded the partnership based on the results,” said David Shull, Chief Executive Officer of Tern. “We’re proud to help more Avoya advisors grow their businesses while spending less time on administrative work.”
