SINGAPORE, February 20, 2017 – Asia’s top cosplayers have battled it out onboard Royal Caribbean International’s Mariner of the Seas, for the Asia Cosplay Meet Championship 2017, with the Indonesian team emerging as the top winner, followed by the Philippines in second place and Japan in third place. This was during Asia’s second cosplay festival at sea, “COSFEST SEA: Beyond The Great Horizons”, organised by The Singapore Cosplay Club. The February 17 to 20 three-night theme cruise featured exciting cosplay entertainment and activities, which also drew hundreds of cosplay fans from around the region.
The Asia Cosplay Meet Championship featured 24 contestants from eight countries and territories namely China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand vying for the top spot, as well as guest performers from the USA. Guests onboard could also mingle with them at the ‘Cosplay Parade’ and experience the fantasy world of cosplay at the ‘Costumes Museum’, as part of the cosplay theme cruise’s programme onboard this cruise.
