ARC Reports November 2017 Air Ticket Sales Increase More Than Five Percent

Average U.S. Roundtrip Ticket Price Remains Steady at $484

 

ARLINGTON, Va. – December 18, 2017 – Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) reported today that the average U.S. roundtrip ticket price* for November 2017 was $484, unchanged from October 2017. Average November 2017 ticket prices are down .5 percent compared to November 2016.

 

The consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 5.4 percent in November as compared to November 2016, totaling $6.8 billion vs. $6.4 billion. The number of passenger trips* settled by ARC for U.S. travel agencies increased 3.5 percent to 20,409,186 compared to 19,724,138 in November 2016.

 

Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD)** sales in November 2017 comprised almost $5.9 million, a 5.4 percent decrease compared to November 2016. EMD transactions also decreased 13.6 percent to 94,441 in November 2017 vs. 109,332 in 2016.
