ARC Releases Customer Validation Service for Small and Midsize Travel Agencies

Perseuss Fraud Intelligence Sharing Platform Powers Cloud-Based Solution

ARLINGTON, Va. – Sept. 18, 2019 – Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) today announced the release of ARC Risk Check, a cloud-based service designed to help small to midsize travel agencies validate customers, reducing the likelihood of fraud and increasing the probability of working with lawful travelers.

Powered by Perseuss, a leading fraud intelligence sharing platform, ARC Risk Check leverages advanced artificial intelligence to search more than 3.2 billion data elements for fraudulent activity. This intelligence is sourced through a global community of merchants and partners including ARC, financial institutions, travel agencies and airlines.

ARC Risk Check allows travel agents to search Perseuss’ intelligence database by entering a customer name, phone number, email address or physical address. In return, the agent receives a risk score to support a data-driven decision to either accept or reject a potential customer’s business.

“Fraud remains one of the most critical risk factors facing travel agencies. According to recent ARC transaction data, more than 52% of fraudulent activity affects small to midsize agencies,” said ARC Director of Revenue Integrity Cornelius Hattingh.  “ARC Risk Check empowers agencies to save time and money by quickly identifying whether or not a customer poses a fraud risk.”

“As fraud is not only committed at larger merchants, we are happy to also offer a tool that helps small and midsize travel agents with different levels of experience to fight fraud,” stated Chief Executive Officer of Perseuss Maarten Alleman. “ARC Risk Check provides a quick and user-friendly tool to mitigate the negative impacts of fraud, generate additional revenue from new, trusted customers and increase the profitability of their operations.”

Travel agencies can register for ARC Risk Check online.
