TravelAI Appoints Travel Technology Veteran Dan Godsell as Director, Governed Memory Platform

ReserveX co-founder and former Expedia, Travelport and Flight Centre executive joins TravelAI to lead the governance behind Traveler.md, its traveler-owned memory layer.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 15, 2026TravelAI, the UpNext company pioneering the next generation of agentic AI for travel, today announced the appointment of Dan Godsell as Director, Governed Memory Platform. In the role, Godsell will define and scale the governance framework behind Traveler.md, TravelAI’s consented, portable memory layer, ensuring travelers retain ownership of their own preferences and trip history as it moves across the growing ecosystem of AI agents, apps, and travel providers that connect to the platform.

Godsell joins TravelAI with two decades of travel technology and distribution experience. He was most recently co-founder and chief executive officer of ReserveX, a Canada-based B2B2C platform that modernized how travel agencies and tour operators distribute multi-day tours and curated experiences, growing operations across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Before founding ReserveX in 2024, Godsell held senior commercial leadership roles at Travelport, where he led Sales and Technical Partnerships for North and Latin America, at Expedia Group, where he led global sales for Egencia, its business travel division, and at FCM Travel Solutions/Flight Centre Travel Group, where he advised multinational organizations on global travel programs.

“Trust is the foundation of everything we’re building at TravelAI,” said Godsell. “Having spent two decades on the distribution side of this industry, I’ve seen how quickly trust breaks down when data isn’t handled transparently. Governed Memory is our answer to that: giving travelers real ownership over their own preferences and travel history, and giving our partners a framework they can build on with confidence. It’s exactly the kind of problem I want to spend this next chapter of my career solving.”

John Lyotier, CEO and co-founder of TravelAI, said Godsell’s appointment reflects the company’s commitment to pairing deep travel industry expertise with the governance behind its agentic AI technology.

“Dan has spent his career on the frontlines of travel distribution, at Travelport, Expedia, and, more recently, building ReserveX from the ground up,” said Lyotier. “That gives him a rare, practical understanding of how data needs to move, and be protected, across agencies, suppliers, and AI agents alike. As we scale Traveler.md and the governed memory layer behind it, including through our relaunch of the Sonder brand, Dan’s experience is exactly what this next stage of growth requires.”

Dan holds an associate degree in business and marketing from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and a Global Travel Professional (GTP) certification from the Global Business Travel Association. Godsell is also a long-serving advisory board member of Give a Mile and a former advisory council member of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA).

The appointment follows a period of rapid momentum for TravelAI, which recently unveiled Traveler.md at Phocuswright Europe in Barcelona and acquired the Sonder brand, relaunching it as a curated, design-led accommodation guide built on TravelAI’s memory infrastructure. Godsell is based in Canada and will work closely with TravelAI’s leadership team as the company continues to build out its agentic travel network.
