For summer 2026, a&o has identified two “notable shifts in guest behaviour”, according to Phillip Winter, CMO: “Travelers are planning their trips much earlier than last year and staying longer.” a&o’s summer guests in 2026 are booking an average of three nights, compared to two last year.

The World Cup in full at a&o
Canada, Mexico and the USA are coming to a&o: Europe’s largest hostel chain will be showing all 104 matches of the 2026 World Cup. More summer with a 10 percent summer sale
In more than half of its hotels, a&o is also offering a 10 percent summer discount. The discount applies to all bookings and stays until the end of August 2026, e.g. at the Antwerp and Brussels, Graz, London, Prague, Venice, Milan and Vienna (Stadthalle) locations, as well as in Germany at locations including Berlin (Hauptbahnhof and Mitte), Cologne (Neumarkt), Hamburg (Hauptbahnhof and City), Frankfurt, Leipzig and Dresden.
Up to four children stay for free
Up to four children or young people under the age of 18 can stay for free in a family room – together with their parents or grandparents. A cheap night’s sleep, a good night’s sleep – in a classic hostel dormitory. a&o currently offers 200,000 beds across Europe at a price of 12 euros per night. This leaves you with plenty of money to spend on activities during your city break. You can choose from 4-, 6- and 8-bed dorms, each with its own bathroom/shower/toilet, including toiletries. Bed linen is always provided; a towel can be booked as an optional extra or brought along. High-speed Wi-Fi is free.
