From Sea to Spotlight: Windstar Shines at the Special Awards Presentation During Latin GRAMMY Week

From Sea to Spotlight: Windstar Shines at the Special Awards Presentation During Latin GRAMMY Week

Windstar Cruises stepped onto the red carpet in Las Vegas on November 9th, returning as an official sponsor for the second year of the Special Awards Presentation kicking-off Latin GRAMMY Week—bringing its signature blend of relaxed luxury and unexpected moments to the heart of the celebration.

In a sea of stars, five Windstar “crew members” made their way through the crowd in full uniform—to deliver invitations. Guests at the Special Awards Presentation received elegant boarding pass–style tickets featuring a QR code to a special offer on select voyages: pay for one guest, and the second guest travels complimentary in the same stateroom. A little surprise, 180 degrees from ordinary®.

Why the Special Awards Presentation?

Many of the cruise line’s most beloved voyages sail through Latin America—from Costa Rica’s wild coastline to the music-filled shores of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It’s a region that moves to its own rhythm—and so does Windstar. Because like Windstar, Special Awards Presentation celebrates connection and culture.

This same spirit extends beyond travel, reflected in Windstar’s dedication to the arts and to fostering creativity in every form. From their partnership with the James Beard Foundation in the culinary world to Miami’s Fountainhead Arts in visual arts and Windstar EQ in the equestrian realm, Windstar continues to champion diverse expressions of artistry, culture, and human connection.

Latin America-Inspired Story Angles Worth Pitching:

  • Cultures in Motion: The Coastal Mosaic of Mexico and Costa Rica – Every day feels like a new verse in a long-running song — Mayan ruins, coffee fincas, artisan villages, coral gardens. Windstar’s Latin America itineraries aren’t about ticking off landmarks; they’re about tasting, hearing, and feeling the rhythm of life between the Pacific and Caribbean. Guests paddleboard straight from the yacht’s Marina platform, sip local rum at sunset, and end the day to the sound of cicadas instead of city noise.

  • The New Luxury: Wild, Local, and Barefoot in Latin America – Luxury in Latin America isn’t about chandeliers — it’s about experience. It’s the freshness of just-caught ceviche, the laughter from a local market, the stillness of morning coffee while anchored off a quiet bay. Windstar redefines upscale travel through intimacy: fewer than 350 guests, open bridges, and yachts that feel more like private retreats.

  • Sailing Seasonless: The Allure of Latin America’s Endless Summer – While Europe winds down, Latin America warms up — and Windstar sails right through it. Between November 2025 and April 2026, Star Pride and Star Seeker (starting April 2026) chase the sun down coastlines that blend tropical ease with cultural depth. From Puerto Vallarta’s golden light to Panama’s coral-rich coves, the itineraries are designed for travelers who’d rather trade winter coats for open-air decks and candlelit dinners under southern stars.
