This month as we continue our tour of the AM Resorts adult only chain, Secrets Resorts, we are going to look at 3 resorts, two new ones and an old favorite. The 3 resorts are the Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa. Resort located in the Playa Mujeres area just North Of Cancun and sitting right next to the Dreams Playa Mujeres. This area is one of the newer areas of the Cancun area and is seeing an explosion of growth. The next Secrets Resort we will look at is the brand new Secrets Moxche Resort located in the Playa Del Carmen Area. This is a brand new resort is opening in February 2022. The last resort we will look at is also a brand new resort, the Secrets Impression Moxche Resort located in the Playa Del Carmen area. It is also opening in February 2022 and is one of the Secrets most upscale resorts and the start of their Impression Line.
The first resort we will look at is the Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa Resort. As I stated, it sits right next to the AM Resorts Family Resort, the Secrets Dreams Playa Mujeres, making it perfect for those multi-generational Destinations weddings or groups. It sits on a fantastic stretch of beach and is close to the nightlife and shopping of the Cancun area.
Accommodations at this AAA 4 Diamond Resort consist of 424 Jr Suites and Suites starting with the Standard Jr. Suite Garden View, then the Jr. Suite Partial Ocean View, the Jr Suite Ocean View, Jr. Suite Swim-out. We then move to the Preferred Club, the AM Resorts Concierge Level. We start with the Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean View, then the Preferred Club Ocean View Swim-out, we then move to the Preferred Club Ocean Front Jr. Suite, then the 1,100 Sq. Ft Preferred Club Master Ocean View Suite, next the 1,100 Sq Ft. Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean Front, and finally the 1,100 sq. ft. Preferred Club Master Suite with Private Pool, Ocean Front. All Jr. Suites and Suites come with Free WIFI, up-graded amenities, and 24 hr. Room Service.
Dining at the resorts consists of an International Buffet and 6 A La Carte Dining options as well as 24 hr. Room Service. The A La Carte Dining options contain, Grilled Specialties, Italian, Seafood, Pan Asian, Mexican, and French. There is also a Coffee Bar with Gourmet Coffee and light snacks. At the bars all alcoholic drinks are top shelf. There are a Pool and Beach bar, a Music Bar, a Swim-up Bar, a Piano Bar, a Preferred Club Bar, a Lobby Bar, a Theater Bar, and a Pool Bar.
As far as Activities there are a wide variety, including a fantastic Spa, a Fitness Center, and a Wonderful Wedding Dept. In the water there are two pools including an Ocean Front Infinity pool and a large active pool as well as 2 hot tubs. Of course, there are the fabulous non-motorized water sports like kayaks, wind surfing, paddle boards, sailing, swim with the Dolphins on the property or just relaxing on the beautiful beach. On land there is golf with free Greens Fees, Tennis, classes like Dance, cooking, language. There is nightly entertainment, Theme Nights, and Beach Parties.
This AAA 4-Diamond Resort is great for adults that want a great adult only experience where there are enough to do for active adults or just to relax. It is in a great location with a great beach. It is especially great for multi-generational Destination Wedding since it sits right next to the AM Resorts Family Resort the Dreams Playa Mujeres. It also is very reasonably priced.
Next, we move on to the new Secrets Moxche Playa Del Carmen. This is a brand new Secrets opening in February 2022. This upscale adult only resort is located 10 minutes from the famed 5th Ave in Playa Del Carmen on a beautiful stretch of Beach. It is made up of spectacular accommodations and public areas. It also has a roof-top pool.
Accommodations at the resort include 485 luxury Suites starting with Jr. Suite Tropical View, Jr Suite Ocean View. We now move to the Preferred Club Suites. The Preferred Club is AM Resorts Concierge Level. We begin with Preferred Club Ocean View Jr. Suite, Preferred Club Superior Jr. Suite Ocean View, Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean Front, Preferred Club 1,500 Sq. Ft. Master Suite Ocean Front, Preferred Club 1,900 Sq. Ft. Preferred Club Ocean View Paramount Suite, and the Ocean View 4,700 Sq. Ft Ocean View Stellar Presidential Suite. All Jr Suites and Suites come with free WIFI, upgraded amenities, and 24 hr. Room Service`
Dining offers an International Buffet and 7 A La Carte Restaurants, 2 of which are on the Beach. The A La Carte dining options include, Italian, Asian, French, Mexican, Steakhouse, Seafood, Pan Asian. There is also a restaurant that is only for Preferred Club Guests. There is a Coffee Bar serving gourmet Coffee and light snacks. As far as Bars we start with the Sports Bar, the Music Bar, the Swim-up Bar, the Theater Bar, the Lobby bar, the Spa Bar, The Beach bar, and the Pool Bat. All bars serve Top Shelf Alcohol. Remember there is 24 hr. Room Service at all accommodation levels.
Activities start with a fantastic Beach and 7 pools as well as 3 Cenotes for swimming. There is a Roof-top pool for Preferred Club Guests. In the water there is snorkeling, Catamaran, Wind Surfing, swimming, and relaxing on the Beach. On land there is golf with free greens fees, Bike tours, Tennis, Beach and Pool Volleyball, Dance and Cooking classes, a fantastic Spa, a great Fitness Center, and a wonderful Wedding dept. You can always go into Playa Del Carmen and 5th Ave for unbelievable shopping and people watching.
This resort is for those looking for a 4 star upscale adult-only experience at a great price and in a great location
The last resort we will look at this month is the new Secrets Impression Moxche. This resort is opening in February 2022. This will be a true 5 star resort adult only. It will have a higher level of Service, Cuisine, and accommodations. It is the first of the AM Resorts new Impression Level. It will contain Jr. Suites, Suites, and Villas. This new resort is also close to Playa Del Carmen and the famed 5th Ave. The resort is a more boutique style Resort with only 198 Suites and Villas.
The accommodations start with their smallest accommodation at 947 Sq. Ft., the Tropical View Suite. They call their lower level accommodations Suites, but they are really oversized Jr. Suites starting at 947 Sq Ft. The next is the Signature Ocean View Suite, then the Signature Ocean Front Suite, we then come to the 1,200 sq. ft. Signature Swim-out Tropical View Suite, we then come to the true Suites starting with the 2,000 Sq, Ft, Ocean View Master Suite, the 2,000 Sq. Ft. Master Tropical View Swim-out Suite, then the 1,700 Sq. Ft. Ocean Front Master Suite, the 2,000 Sq. Ft. Panoramic Ocean Front Master Suite. We then move to the 2,300 Sq. Ft. 2 story Ocean Front Penthouse Suite, and finally the 6,100 Sq. Ft. Presidential Beach Front Villa. All accommodations are Preferred Club Level with private check-in, the Preferred Club Daily lounge, Free WIFI, 24 hr. room service, 24 hr. Concierge Service, Up-dated Amenities, in-room wine cooler, 3 times a day maid service, Complimentary daily newspaper, Complimentary Laundry Service, and Pillow Menu.
Dining is also 5 stars with 9 dining options which includes all the dining options at the Moxche Resort next door. There is Italian, Asian, Steakhouse, French, Mexican, Seafood, Japanese, and 2 upscale restaurants that have daily changing menus. The main restaurants are at the Moxche resort next door with 3 specialty restaurants located at the Impressions Resort. Guests can also use the International Buffet next door. The bars all serve top shelf alcohol. We start with the roof Top Bar, 2 Pool Bars, The lobby Bar, the Theater Bar, and the Beach Bar.
Activities start with the 7 heated pools including the Roof Top Pool and the Cenotes. We then move to the fantastic beach and the non-motorized water sports such as windsurfing, kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling. On land there is Tennis, Bike tours, Games, Nightly entertainment, Dance and Cocktail classes, Euro-Bungee, and fitness classes in the fantastic Fitness Center. There is a great Spa, and a wonderful Wedding dept.
This is going to be a true 5-star resort with large rooms and up-scale public areas. It will come at a price. Rates start at around $1,000 per person per night and will go up to $7,000 per person per night. My only concern is that number of dining options and activities are located at the Secrets Moxche Resort next door. At these rates do I really want to share? This looks like a Resort within a resort situation. Will have to wait to see how things are laid out.
