AI is really changing a lot of aspects of marketing and operations, but when I run across a major opportunity, I will certainly share it so those of our readers that see it working in their agency, can explore its viability.
I have taken a keen interest in AI and read four different AI newsletters every day trying to keep up with what is happening in the AI world. Every now and then I read about a new AI tool that captures my interest and I make an effort to try it out to see if it is something that would be good for travel professionals to consider.
Understand that I have invested decades in learning how to self-publish professional books. Learning the software alone is a constant battle as Adobe makes revisions to InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat and Firefly all of the time. So know if I am suggesting something that it is well versed in its ability to perform. And, while the company I am suggesting does have an affiliate program, I am not one of their affiliates. The suggestion comes from my use of the product, which is the only reason I am sharing it.
This AI tool just blew my mind. It can organize, research and create an ebook with text, images and professional book covers in about 10-minutes, or less.
That is correct. 10-minutes or less!
This eliminates the main objection for agents who just do not have the time to research an ebook, write it, edit it, proof it, lay it out and publish it. I can share that just one book can take me months to do the above tasks. Designerr does all of that in under 10-minutes.
Designerr is quite capable of using your content, if you want. It can read Word, .pdfs and many other formats, However, the real power in Designerr is its ability to create an ebook from scratch. Here are examples of ebooks that I created in under 10 minutes.
“Mastering Interactive Presentations for Travel Agents”, “AI eBooks for Travel Agents, Crafting eBooks for Marketing” “AI Adventures: Revolutionizing Travel Marketing Strategies”
Here is a sample destination guide for Ketchikan, Alaska. Again, this took less than 10 minutes to publish and it is designed to appeal to cruisers. If I was serious about making this guide more effective I would quality control the content and place many images in it, “Ketchikan Uncovered, a Cruisers Guide On Your Own“
Define Your eBook: You will need to prompt Designer about what your book is going to be about and who the reader is likely to be. The more specific that the prompt is, the higher the quality the book.
Answer Some Questions: Designerr will think for a minute and then ask you questions about what you want in the book. The questions only require a yes or no answer.
Review Your Table of Contents: Once you have answered the questions, Designeer thinks for a minute and delivers a complete table of contents for your review. The TOC includes each chapter name and also at least two subheadings. You can make changes to the TOC, but when you are done Designerr goes ahead and creates the text.
Review Your eBook: Designerr delivers your final book ready for the next step. You can review the book if you want to, but I have found that the content is quite acceptable for what it is.
Pick a Template: Now you will pick an appropriate template for your book which includes front and back covers and the interior design. There are a good number of templates to choose from and they can be modified.
Publish the Book: The book can be published for Adobe Reader, for Kindle, in HTML, as a flip page book, as a live ebook, as an .epub and for audiobooks.
Once your book is published you receive an email with a link to a .pdf download and also a link to how you wanted it published. The book resides in your current projects folder and you can open the file, make changes and then republish it to the same URL. I used the flip page option for the examples in this article.
Designerr has a unique value proposition in that it is one of the first AI tools that creates a complete product. While one can use the AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity to research and create an ebook, Designerr’s function is to create the entire ebook in one effort. But, there are both positives and negatives in using it.
The entry level to use Designerr is only $67 ($27 for the software and $37 for an ebook) which is quite reasonable. Of course, there are upgrades, but the ebooks in this article were made at the $27 level.
You can download the .pdf file for the ebook which is all you need to publish it in just about any format.
Designerr lacks the comprehensive layout features that Indesign offers. However, the idea of creating ebooks in a matter of minutes is what Designerr is all about.
The most significant concern is the potential for generic or undifferentiated content. Designer tends to draw from common patterns and might produce writing that lacks the unique voice, personal insights, and authentic experiences that make books compelling and valuable to readers.
Quality control becomes crucial. Designerr generated content often needs substantial editing to match the depth and nuance of human writing. You’ll likely need to heavily revise any ebook to ensure it meets professional standards.
Finally, Designerr’s marketing is very annoying. I had to tell them to take me off their email list, which they did.
