This month we will look at the rest of the Sandos Resorts which are located in Europe, two are in Spain and one is in the Canary islands. Two of them are located in the town of Benidorm Spain, one of them is located on the Spanish Island of Ibiza, and the fourth one is located in the Canary Islands. These are all 3.5 star resorts in my opinion.
These resorts offer 3 meal plans, All Inclusive, Full Board, and what they call Bed and Breakfast. The all inclusive plans give clients all meals and local alcoholic drinks, full board which provides breakfast and dinner, and Bed an Breakfast providing accommodations including breakfast.
All the resorts are either ocean front or close to great beaches. We will start with the two resorts located in Benidorm. Benidorm is located South of Barcelona and North of Malaga. It has become one of the most popular sun and beach locations in Spain.
The first resort we will look at is the Sandos Monaco. This adult only resort is set in town and very close to a beautiful beach and is within walking distance of shopping and dining in town. This area has over 300 days of sun and beautiful weather. This resort is focused on wellness and relaxation.
As far as accommodations the resort offers Deluxe wellness rooms that include a massage and hydrotherapy session as well as a room with balcony. The next room is the standard deluxe with great city views, then the Select Deluxe that includes the select club, Sandos concierge level, and finally the Suite Sandos, a one bedroom Suite with two balconies.
Dining at the resort offers 2 restaurant choices, An International Buffet, and an Indian Restaurant. The resort is within walking distance of a number of dining options in town. There is no room service at this resort. If you ae lucky enough to be in a room with the Select Service, you can get snacks and premium alcoholic drinks in the Select Club. As far as drinks are concerned you can select from the Main Bar, or the Lounge Bar. There is no room service at this resort.
Activities are based around a wellness and Spa vibe with Yoga, Aqua Wellness with a number of water activities, and a full Spa with a full menu of Spa treatments. The beautiful beach is within walking distance and the guests are close to shopping. There is a main pool at the resort and a smaller pool in the Spa.
I would rate this resort more of a hotel resort located in a great destination. It is a great place to relax, take advantage of the Spa and Wellness activities, and enjoy the area. Just remember that this resort does not sit on the ocean and beach.
We will now look at the other resort located in the town of Benidorm, the Family friendly Sandos Benidorm Suites. This resort is also in the city but close to the top two beaches in the area as well as shopping and dining. The theme for this resort is music.
Accommodations consist of five categories, the standard room with balcony, the Wellness room with balcony and with a massage and water treatment included. The next is the Select Room with the services of the Select, or concierge club. It also comes with a 15% discount on all Spa treatments. We then have the pool view room with a balcony overlooking the pool, and finally we have, what they call the Apartment but is really a one bedroom Family Suite. All rooms and Suites come with a minibar and upgraded amenities.
Dinning options offer the main International Buffet and an Indian Restaurant. The resort is steps from great dining options in town. There is no room service at this resort.
Activities include a great Kid’s Club and a separate Teen Club with age appropriate activities for all ages including a mini disco. For adults they have a great Spa, a full gym, a relaxing pool, and nightly entertainment.
This resort is great for families that want to experience this area in an upscale resort but, remember that this resort does not sit on the beach.
The next resort takes us to the Island of Ibiza. The Sandos El Greco is an adult only resort located next to the crystal-clear waters and pristine sands of Portinatx beach. The hotel offers both all-inclusive and half board options and is set on one of the best beaches on the island of Ibiza. At Sandos El Greco Hotel in Portinatx, you can participate of the Live the real Ibiza experience. Throughout the week, you will see the different faces of the island. During your stay with Sandos El Greco Hotel you´ll have the chance to soak up the Mediterranean culture and experience the famous music, lifestyle, tradition, and dining on what is known as the White Island. They have the all-inclusive and half-board plans available.
Accommodations are made up of six different options, the Standard room with a view of the beach, A Triple Superior for up to 3 people, A double superior with a view of the beach, The Deluxe Royal Elite with a beach and ocean view, lastly is the deluxe sea view with a great ocean view. All room come with a balcony with either an ocean view or beach view.
As for dining there are two choices, the International Buffet and an a la carte Mediterranean restaurant. Guests can eat at the Mediterranean restaurant once during their stay. As far as drinks there are the Main bar, the Royal Elite bar, the pool bar, and a snack bar serving snacks all day.
Activities include two tours, the lighthouse tour, and the Portinaxt Tower tour. There are games all day, and Latin dance lessons. There is also relaxing on the beach or around the pool. At night there are theme parties, nightly shows, and games. They do have a wonderful Spa with a wellness theme.
This is a great resort for couples or single adults that want to experience the island and stay at a wonderful adult only resort on one of the best beaches on the island of Ibiza.
The last resort we will look at this month is the Sandos Papagayo on the island of Lanzarote and in the town of Playa Blanca in the Canary Islands. This is a great family all inclusive that also offers a half board option. It is the only resort on the island that is 24 hr all inclusive. This resort does have a beach, but it is not one of the best beaches on the island. It does have 3 pools and sits on a bluff with a fantastic ocean view.
Accommodations provide a number of choices. We will start with the Superior Room. This is furnished with a king bed of two double beds. We then have the Superior Seaside view with a great ocean view. We now move to the Family room with room for 2 adults and 3 children and includes a large balcony. Next, we have the Royal Elite Seaview room. The Royal Elite is Sandos concierge level with its own restaurant. This room has a great ocean view. The last category is also a Royal Elite level. It is the Royal Elite Jr. Suite with a fantastic ocean view. There is no room service at this resort.
Dining offers three dining choices, The International Buffet, an Asian restaurant, and the Royal Elite level restaurant for those in the Royal Elite level room. As far as bars there is the Lobby bar with great ocean views, the Outdoor Terrace bar with weekly live music, the pool bar, the adult only music bar, the theater bar, and the snack bar.
As far as activities the resort offers a kid’s club, a teen club, various activities for the adults as well as the pools and the beach. At night there are themed nights, live music, and theater shows for all ages.
This is a very nice family all-inclusive for those families that want to experience the Canary Islands and their wonderful weather and the price is right.
This concludes our resort tours for this month. Next month we will look at another great all inclusive resort chain. Until then stay well and stay safe.
