Luxury Meets Fun in the Sun in these Beautiful Dreams Resorts Properties

Written By: Geoff Millar, Owner – Ultimate All Inclusive Travel

This month we are going to finish the Dreams Resorts on the West Coast of Mexico. They are the Dreams Huatulco, the Dreams Acapulco, and the Dreams Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta. We will start with the Dreams resort that is the farthest South, the Dreams Huatulco located in the Huatulco area of Mexico about 300 miles south of Acapulco.

The Dreams Huatulco sits in the Huatulco area about 300 miles south of Acapulco. You would fly into the Huatulco International airport. Huatulco is located in the state of Oaxaca, one of the main silver producing areas of Mexico. Huatulco is situated on 7 bays, most of which are only accessible by boat. This area is a very pristine non-touristy area. The only negative and a reason it is so pristine is the limited air lift to the area. Nestled along the sparkling, Pacific coastline of Mexico, only 25 minutes from Huatulco International Airport, a tropical paradise awaits at our family-friendly, all-inclusive resort. Surrounded by lush jungle, soaring mountains, dazzling coral reefs, golden beaches, and the sapphire waters of the Tangolunda Bay.

The 421 accommodations at this resort consist of Standard rooms and Preferred Club rooms and Suites. The Standard Rooms begin with the Deluxe Tropical View and the Deluxe Tropical view with Hot Tub, and finally the Deluxe Partial Ocean View. All these rooms come with either one king bed or two Double beds. We now move to the Preferred Club, AM Resorts Concierge Level, Rooms and Suites starting with the Preferred Club Deluxe Ocean Front Room, next they have the Preferred Club Ocean Front Jr. Suite with Hot Tub. Then finally have the 1,300 Sq. Ft. Preferred Club Ocean Front Presidential Suite. All Preferred Club Rooms and Suites come with either one King bed or two double beds. All Rooms and Suites have free WIFI, upgraded amenities, daily refreshed mini bar, and 24 Hr. Room Service.

Dining options include an International Buffet, a Grill, a Coffee Café, and 5 A La Carte Restaurants. The A La Carte options include Mexican, Pan Asian, Italian, Seafood, and an Upscale Grill. Don’t forget the 24 Hr. Room Service. As far as drinks the resort includes 6 bars and lounges offering the Pool and Beach Bar, the Music Lounge Bar, the Mezcal Bar, the Lobby Bar, the Poolside Bar, and the refreshing Spa Bar.

Activities are varied and unique at this resort. It has both land and sea activities for every member of the family. In the Water you can relax in one of the 3 pools, 2 for families and 1 adult only pool. On the beach there is catamaran sailing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, Kayaks, and at an extra charge, snorkeling tours and fishing. Take a boat tour to one of the 7 secluded bays in the area. On land the resort has basketball, horseshoes, beach volleyball, bicycles, daily activities and games, nightly entertainment, beach and theme parties. There are Clubs for kids and teens with supervised activities both inside and outside, a fantastic Spa, and a wonderful wedding Dept. Shopping is a great activity since the town is located in one of the top silver producing areas of Mexico.
This resort is for those clients who want luxury in an off the beaten path location at a reasonable cost.

The next resort we will look at is the new Dreams Resort in Acapulco. The Dreams Acapulco is located on the Southern end of Acapulco Bay close to the Las Brisas area. This resort was first opened in 1971 and has changed hands a number of times before it became the Dreams Acapulco. Reports state the resort seemed a little outdated and tends to cater to the local population. It is AM resorts first foray into the Acapulco area.

The resort has 605 rooms and suites and sits directly on the beach. The room categories consist of Deluxe Tropical View, Deluxe Partial Ocean View, Deluxe Ocean View, and finally the Deluxe Jr. Suite Ocean Front. All rooms come with one king bed or two double beds. We now move to the Preferred Club Level, AM Resorts concierge level. We start with the Preferred Club Deluxe Partial Ocean View, the Preferred Club Deluxe Ocean View, then the Preferred Club Deluxe Jr. Suite Ocean Front, the 950 Sq Ft Preferred Club Family Suite Ocean View, and finally the 3,900 Sq Ft Preferred Club three bedroom Ocean Front Presidential Suite. All these accommodations come with one King Bed or two Double beds except for the Presidential Suite which comes with two King beds and two Double Beds. All accommodations come with free WIFI, upgraded amenities, mini bars refreshed once a day, and 24 hr. room service.

Dining options are made up of an International Buffet, a Grill, Trattoria, and a gourmet Coffee Café, an Ice Cream Parlor, and 3 A La Carte restaurants. The A LA Carte Restaurants offer these choices, Mexican, Steak and Seafood, and Mediterranean and Italian. As far as drinks there are a number of choices including, the Beachfront Bar, the Pool Bar, the Italian Bar, the Lobby Bar, and the Poolside Bar. Don’t forget 24 hr. room service

Golf is available for an additional charge, and we can’t forget the iconic shopping in town. The resort has a great kid and teen club with supervised activities. There is a wonderful wedding dept. and a fantastic full service Spa.

This resort is great for those who want to visit the memorable Acapulco. This resort is an older resort built in 1971. And tends to cater to the local crowd as well as those living in Mexico City.

The last resort we will visit today is the Dreams Villamagna. This resort sits in the Nuevo Vallarta area or as it is known today the Nayarit area of Puerto Vallarta. It sits about 45 minutes north of the town of Puerto Vallarta. This area has one of the best beaches in Puerto Vallarta. It was known as Nuevo Vallarta or New Vallarta because it was one of the first areas outside of Puerto Vallarta to be developed. The area is now just known as Nayarit which is the name of the state in which it sits. This resort was a privately owned condo development until AM Resorts turned part of it into a resort. One main building is the resort, and the remainder of the development is made up of privately owned condos.

The 229 accommodations at the resort are divided by regular rooms and suites and the Preferred Level of the concierge level. In the regular resort accommodations, they are all Jr. Suites starting with the Tropical View Jr. Suite, then the Partial Ocean View Jr. Suite, and finally the Jr. Suite Ocean View. All regular accommodations come with one king bed or two double beds At the Preferred Club Level, they have two categories, the Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean View, and the one bedroom Preferred Club Presidential Suite. All Preferred Club accommodations come with one king bed or two double beds. All accommodations come with free WIFI, upgraded amenities, mini bars refilled once a day, and 24 Hr. room service.

Dining at this resort includes an International Buffet, a Snack Bar, a Sushi Lounge, a Coffee Café, and 4 A La Carte dining options including, Mexican, Seafood, Italian, and a Steakhouse. As far as drinks, the choices are, the Pool Bar, the Lobby Bar, and the Beach Bar. Don’t forget the 24 Hr. Room Service.

Activities at the resort include both land and water choices. In the water they have three pools, the main pool is heated during the winter months, and a fantastic beach. The beach also has great body boarding as well as non-motorized water activities. Scuba diving and fishing are available at an additional cost. On land there is Tennis, Volleyball, bike tours, Golf is available nearby at an additional cost. There are theme nights, nightly entertainment, Meet the chefs tastings, daily activities. There is a great Kid’s and Teen club with supervised activities, a fantastic Spa, Fitness Center and a great Wedding Dept. Off the resort you are close to the unique surfing town of Sayulita and jungle activities.

This resort is great for families that want a smaller resort in the Nayarit area and its beautiful beach but close to the shopping and nightlife of Puerto Vallarta at a reasonable price. I also have to say that we have been selling a lot of West Coast Mexican vacations because of the Seaweed issues on the East Coast of Mexico.

This concludes our tour of the Family oriented Dreams Resorts located on the West Coast of Mexico. Next month we will move to the East Coast of Mexico and the Dreams Resorts on the Caribbean side. Until then, safe travels and good selling
