This month we will look at the remaining 3 Dreams Resorts located in the Cancun area. Those resorts are the Dreams Vista Resort and Spa, the Dreams Sands Resort and Spa, the Dreams Playa Mujeres Resort and Spa. These resorts are located in the hotel Zone of Cancun and the Playa Mujeres area just north of the Cancun downtown area. These are close to the activities, nightlife and shopping of the Cancun area.

 

 

The first Dreams Resort we will look at is the Dreams Vista Resort and Spa. The Dreams Vista is perfectly set in the exclusive gated community of Puerta del Mar just next to downtown Cancun and down the street from the Port of Cancun where you can catch the ferry to Isla Mujeres. This is a beautiful relatively new resort with a modern feel and look. This resort has a rooftop pool and relaxing patio with a fantastic view of the area.

 

 

The 416 accommodations at the resort consist of both standard and Preferred Club (Concierge level). In the standard Jr. Suite, it starts with the Golf and Ocean View with one King or 2 Queen beds, the Deluxe Ocean View Jr. Suite with one king or two queen beds, the Deluxe Gold and Ocean View Suite with one king and 2 queen or 4 queen beds, and the Deluxe Ocean View Suite with one king or two double beds. Moving to the Preferred Club suites they start with the Preferred Club Deluxe Ocean View Jr. Suite, the Preferred Club Corner Ocean View Suite, the preferred Club Ocean View Jr. Suite with Plunge Pool, the Preferred Club Ocean View Honeymoon Suite, the Preferred Club Ocean Front Master Suite, the Preferred Club Ocean View Deluxe Family Suite, the Preferred Club Ocean View Family Suite with plunge pool, the Preferred Club Master Ocean View Suite, the Preferred Club Ocean Front Presidential Suite. The Preferred Club level comes with one king or two queen beds. All Suites come with upgraded amenities, free WIFI, and 24 hr. room service.

 

 

As far as dining the resort offers, an International Buffet, an International Food Court, a snack bar, a coffee and ice cream bar, and 4 A La Carte restaurants. The A La Carte restaurants offer, Mediterranean, Pan Asian, Mexican, and Italian. There is also 24 hr. room service. As far as drinks they offer, a Rooftop Bar, Beach Bar, Sports Bar, Lobby Bar, Lounge Bar, Terrace Bar, and the Preferred Club bar.

 

 

Activities at the resort are both on land and in the water. On land they have ping pong, climbing wall, foosball, board games, a water shuttle to the Puerto Cancun shopping Mall, and a golf course right next door, Zipline, nightly entertainment, theme nights, and beach parties. In the water there are a ton of activities starting with 4 heated pools, one is the rooftop Preferred Club Pool, two surfing pools, a water park, snorkeling, kayaks, sailing, beach and pool volleyball, and a wonderful beach for relaxing. This resort is close to both downtown Cancun and the hotel zone for nightlife and shopping. The resort has a wonderful Spa, a great wedding dept. and a kid’s club for kids 3-12 and a teen club for kids 13-17.

 

This 4 star resort is great for families that want to explore the Cancun area, take a trip to Isla Mujeres and are looking for a large variety of activities in an upscale environment and at a reasonable cost.

 

 

The next Dreams Resort we will look at is the Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa. This resort used to be the Grand Oasis Viva. It sits close to the elbow of the 7 on the Cancun hotel strip. This is within walking distance of the shopping and nightlife of Cancun and only 15 minutes from Downtown Cancun. It sits on a great swimable beach.

 

The 438 accommodations at the resort consist of both Standard and Preferred Club (Concierge level) Rooms and Suites. At the Standard level they start with Deluxe Partial Ocean View. This category does not have a balcony. Then they have the Ocean View room with balcony, then the Ocean Front room, no balcony, then the Ocean Front room with balcony, and the Family Suite which consists of 2 connecting rooms. We now move to the Preferred Club level rooms and Suites starting with, Preferred Club Ocean Front, no balcony, then Preferred Club Ocean front with balcony, then the Preferred Club Jr. Suite with balcony, the Preferred Club Corner Suite, and finally the Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite. The regular rooms and Suites come with one king or two double beds. The Preferred Club rooms and suites only come with one king bed. All rooms and Suites have free WIFI, upgraded amenities, and 24Hr Room Service.

 

 

Dinning offers the following choices, An International Buffet, a Grill, a Coffee and Ice Cream Bar as well as 6 A La Carte Restaurants. The A La Carte choices are, Mexican, Grilled Specialties, Pan Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, and an International Cuisine adult only A La Carte Restaurant and don’t forget about 24 Hr room service. As far as drinks there are a variety of choices starting with, a Beach Bar, a Music Lounge Bar, a Swim-up bar, and a Lobby bar.

 

Activities include both land and water activities. In the water there are two pools with the main pool heated in the cooler months, Kayaks, Ocean trampoline, Ocean Volleyball, and a beautiful beach for relaxing. On land there are Dance lessons, Spanish Lessons, Cooking and cocktail lessons, free greens fees at the Playa Mujeres golf course, nightly entertainment, and Theme nights. There is also a beautiful Spa, a great wedding Dept. There are two Kid’s Clubs, one for kids 3-12 and a Teen Club for kids 13-17.

 

 

This 3.5 star resort is great for those that want to be in the middle of the Cancun action yet want to have a very nice resort to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun.

 

The last resort we will look at this month is the fabulous Dreams Playa Mujeres Resort and Spa. Located in the gated community of Playa Mujeres just 10 minutes North of Cancun this resort sits on a beautiful stretch of beach and has room to spread out as well as a great water park. It sits next to the Secrets Playa Mujeres, AM resorts adult only resort. Adults staying at the Dreams Resort have exchange privileges with the Secrets resort. There is also a swim with the dolphin’s program at the Dreams Playa Mujeres.

 

The 502 accommodations at the Dreams Playa Mujeres consist of both standard and Preferred Club (Concierges)levels. All accommodations are Jr. Suites or Suites. In the standard level they start with Jr. Suite Garden View, the Jr. Suite Pool View, Jr. Suite Partial Ocean View, Jr. Suite Ocean View, Family Jr. Suite Garden View, and Family Jr. Suite Ocean View. In the Preferred Club Level, they have the Preferred Club Jr. suite Ocean View, the Preferred Club Swim-out Ocean View, the Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean View with private pool, the Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean View, the Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean View Swim-out, the Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean Front with private pool, the preferred Club Family Suite Ocean View, the Preferred Club 2 bedroom Villa, the 4,900 sq. ft. Paramount Ocean View, and the 8,800 sq. ft. Ocean Front Presidential Suite. All accommodations at the lower levels come with either one king bed or two queen beds. Higher level accommodations come with just one king bed. All accommodations come with upscale amenities, free WIFI, and 24 hr. room service.

 

 

Dining at the resort offers an International Buffet, a Grill, a Coffee and Ice Cream Café, and 6 A La Carte restaurants. Adults at the Dreams also have exchange privileges with the Secrets dinning options. The A La Carte options include, Japanese, Brazilian Steakhouse, French, Seafood, Mediterranean, and Mexican. Don’t forget the 24 hr. room service. Drinks are offered at the Lobby Bar, Pool Bar, Swim-up Bar, Sports Bar, the Grotto Swim-up Bar, the Theater Bar, the standard Bach Bar, the Preferred Club Beach Bar, and the Spa Bar. There are kid’s bars serving non-alcoholic drinks, at the Straw Bar, the Lazy River Bar, and the Zone Teen Bar.

 

Activities are offered both on land and in the water. In the water they have two main pools and 2 Kid’s pools, a water park, and a lazy river. A beautiful beach, kayaks, sailing, snorkeling, and a swim with the dolphins program at an extra cost. On land there is Tennis, Beach and Pool Volleyball, Discounted Greens Fees at the Playa Mujeres Golf Course, Nightly entertainment, Spanish and cooking classes, Theme nights and Beach parties. Guests are just a short drive from the nightlife and shopping of Cancun. The resort has two great kid’s clubs, one for the kids 3-12 and a teen club for kids 13-17. There is a fantastic Spa and the resort is perfect for a wedding with both the family resort and the adult only resort giving you the ability to satisfy all your wedding guests.

 

 

This 4 star resort is great for families or couples that want to spread out in a luxurious environment and have access to a number of activities so no one is board and at a great price. The resort is a short drive from the airport.
