Traveltek Group Appoionts New Business Development Manager in South East Asia

Experienced travel technology professional, Adam Tan, joins the Singapore team to help the firm capitalise on strong interest in its cruise dynamic packaging tools

Singapore, 3rd April, 2018: Traveltek Group Ltd has appointed a new Business Development Manager (BDM) in South-East Asia to help capitalise on strong market demand for its cruise dynamic packaging technology.

Experienced travel technology professional, Adam Tan, who joins from Sabre Travel Network (APAC) where he was an Account Manager for five years, will team up with current BDM, Javine Tan, at the company’s Singapore office, which she launched on behalf of the UK-headquartered firm in October.

Traveltek has since won new business from leading cruise line General Sales Agents (GSAs) and travel agencies in Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines who are using its B2C platform to sell cruises, fly-cruise and cruise packages online to their customers for the first time.

With the company introducing cruise packaging technology that is new to market, Asia’s travel industry is taking notice, and Tan’s remit is to maximise opportunities in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand – a region where cruise demand is currently experiencing record double-digit growth.

“Less than six months after establishing a Singapore office, our multi award-winning cruise dynamic packaging technology is helping agents in Asia revolutionise the way in which they sell cruise online, giving their customers access to global products via a single website,” said Paul Millan, Regional Director Asia Pacific, Traveltek Group Ltd.

“With a strong travel technology background, most recently in a South-East Asia focused role, Adam comes on board as Traveltek’s expansion drive in the region gains momentum. He is very familiar with our target customers, understands their needs, and has a strong network of contacts, which makes me confident he will be highly successful in supporting our growth plans going forward.”

Millan explained how tech-savvy Asian travellers were accustomed to buying flights and hotels online, but until Traveltek entered the market, very few agency websites or OTAs offered cruise booking or packaging options, because the technology was not available.

“What we are noticing is that cruise-only bookings dominate in Singapore because many ships homeport there, while in markets like Indonesia and the Philippines, fly-cruise demand is strong, and our technology is making it much easier to book both,” he added.

Tan said Asia’s travel industry was “hungry for technology” to help meet the growth potential of the region’s cruise and leisure business and Traveltek was filling this void.

“There is a huge opportunity to introduce our dynamic packaging solutions to tour operators, travel agents and cruise specialists in Asia, helping them create customised packages for their customers online for the first time and therefore maximising their top line,” he said.

“I am very excited to be part of the team pioneering this advanced technology in the region, which I believe will exceed industry expectations.”
