TravelAI launches Traveler.md, a user-owned travel memory file that gives AI the context it’s been missing

Debuting at Phocuswright Europe, Traveler.md gives travelers a user-owned, consented, AI-ready memory file that makes travel more personal, more efficient, and more trustworthy

BARCELONA, Spain, Jun. 15, 2026TravelAI, The Travel Memory Company, today announced the launch of Traveler.md, a portable, user-owned travel memory file designed to help travelers move from repetitive, cold-start interactions to more relevant and more efficient travel experiences. The launch takes place at Phocuswright Europe in Barcelona, where TravelAI’s leadership will introduce the product to the global travel industry, where other tech leaders are discussing moving AI innovations from the lab to live use cases that solve real customer problems.

TravelAI applies AI to the travel vertical to make it more efficient and create better traveler outcomes. Traveler.md is the first expression of TravelAI’s three-part strategy: portable memory for the traveler, governed memory built for the enterprise, and better memories for all.

Traveler.md gives travelers a durable, governed, portable record of who they are, what they prefer, what they have done, and what they intend to do. The file is distributed via MCP and is accessible to AI systems only with explicit traveler consent. When referenced, a traveler’s agentic experience is more tailored, more personalized, and grounded to their reality.

“Effective AI should remember what matters, respect permissions, and make travel easier,” said John Lyotier, CEO of TravelAI. “Traveler.md gives travelers a memory file they own. It stops the traveler from having to repeat themselves every time they make a travel booking and helps travel companies deliver more trustworthy and more useful experiences.”

Traveler.md compiles automatically from a traveler’s AI-assisted interactions into a clean, portable format that AI systems can read and act on. This is always done under the traveler’s permission. Because the file travels with the user rather than being locked inside anyone booking system, every interaction can start warm instead of cold.

“Traveler.md is the first memory file that lets travelers carry the nuance of how they like to travel into any tool they choose.,” saidBrianna MacNeil, Director of AI Products & Personalization at TravelAI. “We built Traveler.md to solve the problem of digital amnesia that currently plagues the travel industry. We built it to be created automatically, to travel with the user across systems, and to stay fully under the traveler’s permission. That unlocks something the industry has never had before: Portable Traveler Context. Every AI travel system needs this to deliver on its promises. ”

Alongside the launch, TravelAI published its vision paper for traveler.md, which makes the case for traveler-owned memory:

“We believe a traveler’s memory should travel with them… We believe travel is for presence, not paperwork.”

The full vision paper is available at Traveler.md.

As a first order of business, Traveler.md is being applied to TravelAI’s proprietary network of more than 531 consumer-facing brands to provide warm-start personalization and demonstrate better traveler and business outcomes before being made available to enterprise customers. Traveler.md is available for free to individual travelers who can create their own profile at Traveler.md.

Businesses interested in connecting to Traveler.md, as an MCP client or a connector can contact partnerships@traveler.md.
